Wanting to start labor

I'm 35 weeks and wondering when it would be okay to start triggering labor? I had my baby shower yesterday and after putting everything away it just made me realize how tired I am of waiting. (Plus tired in general lol.) I'd ask my doctor but for some reason I'm still on 2 week appointments and it'll be a while.

The way the question is read it seems like your just wanting to start Labour with a normal pregnancy and thats why some ppl say some of the comments they do. Try and use a Lil back drop and you will get better responses. Good luck :)

Although I feel your anxiety, think of the health of the baby. The longer she bakes the better her health :) pregnancy due dates can be off 2 weeks. It's possible your 33 weeks or 37 weeks. Stay active to keep your mind off due date. It will help. I was exactly like you & 39 weeks now.

We all get tired of being pregnant and I think it's rude to tell her it's not all about her. I understand we don't all love being pregnant, I don't. I'm not going to trigger labor but I understand how difficult it has gotten to be tired all the time. We go through this like 35 week slump huh? Haha I hear starting labor can be dangerous though so we just have to stick it out

Thank you! I'm about to be 36 weeks so that's why I started wondering about it more and more. I'm hoping I can persuade him to let me try another week and reschedule. They just said if he doesn't gain a significant amount before then, they would just take him early since there was no point of him staying in when he could be getting the nutrients at the hospital. Maybe he'll be like me and come on his own before the surgery. :) Thank you again!

In my experience, none of the natural stuff works unless baby is about to arrive anyway.  I am 39 and 3 and have been doing all the things ppl say to do as I am on a timeline too before having a csection, tho they r giving me til 41 weeks.  Nothing is working and I have been having regular contractions for a week :-(.  But you can try lots of sex, bouncing on a ball, walking, raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, nipple stimulation, etc.  But I would either wait til right at 36 weeks or make sure they won't stop it if you went into labor this week as that would probably guarantee you having a csection if they give you meds.  Good luck.  Sry you have had such a hard pregnancy.  I hope for the best for you and baby.

Thank you for everyone else's comments! I was just seeing if there were anyways I can try and get him naturally without the scheduled c section since he will be in the hospital afterwards no matter what. I should have explained my case in the question before submitting it.

You shouldn't be sad reading my post at all lol. At 37 weeks they will be doing a c section no matter what. I developed a placenta problem where he doesn't get all of the nutrients he should and is underweight for his age. Also, he is already wanting to come out. He dropped at 29 weeks and I lost my plug at 30. He is doing most things extremely early which is causing more and more of a health risk. I have had more tests, ER visits, and ultrasounds than most women have with three kids. Please don't be rude. You have no idea what my scenario actually is. I typed this early in the morning not thinking I would have to explain my forum question but since you seem to think I was thinking about just myself, I wasn't. I see less disrespect on questions asking about smoking weed during pregnancy. Very sad. I posted this hoping I can give him a chance at natural birth instead of a c section. Just because at 37 weeks he will be taken out the unnatural way doesn't mean that it's final. My mother was supposed to have 3 c sections with my sisters and I and the day before the scheduled surgery I came. Thank you for your time though!

Don't rush it. I've seen babies come too early :( its scary and sad. Just be patient and know every day/ week that goes by not only gets you closer but baby is that much better off.

Unfortunately the only thing you should do is just continue to wait :-( I know it ***** I'm 36+5 and I'm so over being preggo but nature has to run it's full course on this one. You can walk though that could help set off your labor when your baby and body are actually ready. Other than that you kinda have to let the baby finish "cooking"

If baby was born now they would be in the NICU for 4-5 weeks most likely.  After 36 weeks doctors will not stop labor but they do not want you going into labor before 37 as that is when baby is considered full term.  Most woman deliver between 39-41 weeks and doctors are not allowed to induce or give csections before 39 unless there is a medical reason bc that is when they are most certain the chance of baby not being ready is low and therefore going to NICU is low.  I know it feels like a long time to wait but it will go fast.

The ONLY time you should start triggering labor is if you're overdue. I know waiting for the baby is tough, but the wait is worth it when you know the baby is gonna be healthy.

It makes me really sad reading your post ...  your baby isnt ready to come out yet, and if you made it this far you can couple more weeks.. why put your baby in any kind of danger just because you are tired.... seriously.. its not about you anymore, you should know that by now...
