Thanks everyone!!
We ended up gonig with the Chicco KeyFit 30. It was a little more pricey but I had the Graco w/ both previous kids and, while it was just fine, I wanted to aim for something different this time :0)-.

Thanks for the advice!!

I have the Britax in both of my cars but I don't think they make one for infants. We used these when dd reached a certain age & weight to face forward. I would certainly recommend it when you make the transfer!

your car insurance company will give and offer the best deal for you. I plan on getting with mine in the next week or two.

Chicco and Peg -Perego are the top rated ones. Both Made in Italy :)  I got the Peg-Perego one just because my boss has lent me the stroller of the same brand.  I would have probably got the Chicco otherwise.  I like it better.

After researching many of the car seats I have come to the conclusion that the Graco Snug ride will be the one I get for our little one.  I picked up the book "Baby Bargains" and also went to the website to find out which would be the best one.  I haven't actually gone to the store to try it out, but am hoping to go this week.  It is supposedly one of the lighter car seats at 7lbs., however I was told by several people to get a seperate stroller because several weren't happy with the way the travel system stroller was to maneuver.  Hope this helps.

I have a good friend who works for our local emergency service installing car seats and providing car seat education - she cannot recommend any specific car seat - but the advice she gave me is the the $300 Britax is tested to the exact same safety specifications as the $90 Graco - they both have to be tested to the same standards and when you pay extra, its usually just for bells and whistles - her advice was to buy what I liked and if I could save a dollar or two and still make sure the baby would be safe to go for it - My advice would be to make sure you take your car seat someplace and have it installed by professionals - our local emergency service uses no slip on the seat and pool noodles to level the seat - also - DONT buy one of those snuggly sleeping bags things that go in the seat under and over the baby - you should NEVER put anything between your baby and the safety straps/harness - tuck blankets around your baby and the baby will stay nice and warm - but call your local emergency service or fire department and ask who installs car seats and provides car seat safety education

I have the Graco Laura Ashley set. It has the infant carrier, base & snaps into the stroller and some little snap & go light stroller thingy that just carries the carrier (very much needed). This baby I'm at a loss! I'm going to need a double stroller. I never had any problems with it and hubby just had an extra base for his car.
