What time of day to test ovulation?

Just wondering if anyone has found a certain time of day better to test for ovulation?  I have a Clearblue digital ovulation kit, which says you can test first thing in the morning.  However I have read that it is better to test after 2pm to detect the LH surge.

The only downside to this is that the instructions state that 'To make sure that the hormone level in your urine is concentrated enough for the test to detect, it’s important not to urinate for at least 4 hours before doing the test' -  which is why I am now trying to distract myself as I have been needing to 'GO' for the last hour and have at least another 45 mins to go!!

If the time of day really doesn't make any difference PLEASE let me know and I will do my testing first thing as I'm losing circulation in my feet from having my legs crossed so much!! :D

Thanks Ladies

I'm thinking that on my next cycle I will try around 10am with this kit and maybe I will try another kit later on in the day - no harm in testing twice a day!  Thanks for all your advice.

best to test by the instructions....at least that is what i have been told.....different test kit's instructions say different times......each kit is set to read differnt levels, so it is best to read instructions and use them.....
hate to say it but try a few differnt kits and times and see if the give same reading at differnt times, then you will have better information of your individual cycle.....

I always tested first thing in the morning, because it was more convenient for me. Never had any problems with my digital monitor - Clearblue digital monitor with low/medium/high bars. This monitor always gave me the right day for ovulation, 14 or 15 days before my periods, no matter how long my cycles were.

I got my smiley face at 10:40 in the am, I would definitely wait til at least 10 and they say it's good anytime throughout the afternoon.
