redBlues,

I found out about low dose/baby aspirin from someone on MH after my 2nd mc.  I started taking it before I found out I was pregnant this third time.  I did tell my doctor to get the okay - this before i knew I was pg too because I was tested for a bloodclotting disorder which came back negative. OB said it was okay to continue taking it.  LAst week at our 21 week scan he said I could go off it so I stopped ( but, I was nervous because I was thinking this is MY "magic blue pill").  Always keep your doctor updated on what you're taking.  It doesn't matter when you take it - just once daily.  i take my prenatal, my 4 folic acid and the aspirin after dinner - like a dessert. I usually wait a little bit after the vitamins/folic before the aspirin.

Good luck to you - and you know what ?  The third times a charm  !    :D

I do not know anything about aspirin and the uterine lining. The doctor told me to take aspirin after a missed period because of the blood mutation I have (MTHFR) but some other conditions may require to take it prior to ovulation?

I am on Baby aspirin recommended by a Hemotoligist & my RE due to a clotting issue.  This will def thin out your blood & would check with Dr first.

Ecologic :my understanding is that baby aspirin helps with blood clotting disorder and it makes uterine lining better.

if someone wants to fix these problems, isn't better to take the aspirin before getting preg nant so that uterine  lining and blood clotting would be better ....i'm just curios about it...

thanks for all the responses..

I took a baby aspirin/day as soon as I missed my periods, 17 days after ovulation. I started taking it on my own, but since then I have diagnosed with a clotting problem and am still taking it at 31 weeks. I used to take it in the evening, now I take in the morning, I don't think the time matters.

If I were to ever get pregnant again, my high risk doctor told me I could take it the same way: as soon as I would miss my periods, no need to take it when not pregnant... but it's always best to ask your own doctor! PS: you never want to take more than 1 baby aspirin/day.

Baby aspirin is doubtless fine, but anything you take, tell your doctor.  He or she will be able to recommend how long to take it.  When my doc put me on baby aspirin, it seems like I was on it for a long time.
