Zofran

I saw a commercial today saying that if you were pregnant and took zofran that you and your child could get a financial compensation.  The Zofran caused the baby to get cleft pallet. Has anyone heard of any issues with zofran?? I was on that for the longest time for my sickness!

Yes, I have. My dr. Wouldn't prescribe it to me in my 1st trimester.  He did once I entered my second and am still sick. He told me that it has been linked to cleft palets if taken in the 1 st trimester.

Ya those TV ads are all spammy. It's always some med or another. Don't be alarmed :)

It was a tiny study. Larger studies have since disproved it. Some shady attorneys are always looking to make a buck.

It really didn't help me at all either and it made me constipated too. I was on it 24 hrs a day due to how sick I was. The commercial took me by surprise. My dr is real good about prescribing medicines but I will be asking her about this on Tuesday when I see her.

There are a lot of doctors who no longer prescribe it for pregnant women because of many complications and issues.

My Dr prescribed zofran for me, but I took it o ly twice cuz it's mainly for nausea for cancer patients, not pregnant women.  It was advised back in 2013 or earlier this year that pregnant women shouldn't take it.  I figured better safe than sorry so I chose not to take after the two times.  not much research has been done on it and I didn't want to risk it with my baby.

I took it for five months and the only thing it did was make me super constipated! It helped with the sickness a little so I kept talking it.but my baby is healthy and fine!

Nope, never heard of this. I was scared to take anything & doc reassured me that zofran was fine.  Had IV & pills. With my first I had the dissolving pills. Can I be compensated for the horrible constipation?  That was major!
