all natural help?

I used to have to take 300mg of topomax for migraines twice a day plus 10mg of maxalt on top of it to help. I was also on some low doses of vicodin (sp?) for pain due to fractures in my legs and hips. Since I found out about the pregnancy I have stopped taking everything. I don't like taking medication anyway if I don't really need it. My fractures I have learned to deal with so I'm not too bothered by that but my migraines are worse than I've ever had them. I walk around a dark house with sunglasses on and no noise in here whatsoever. I've had to do this for a few weeks now with no relief. My doctor told me to take childrens tylenol. When I told him the doses of meds I was on and explained to him that the tylenol wouldn't work, he basically told me to put on my big girl panties and stop whining. Needles to say, I almost kicked him in the nads. I don't think the guy has ever had a migraine in his life or he'd never had said that.

I know there are some moms out there that have migraines and what not. Can you gals suggest anything natural to help lessen the pain? I don't have to have my migraine completely gone, I just need it to be tolerable and I don't want to be pumping drugs or anything harmful in to my baby. As I am right now I can't even walk outside without being completely blinded and even hearing the birds outside my window makes me want to strangle something.

I had super bad migraines for over 3 years now and not even topomax,  maxalt, ecedrine, tylenol, advil ANYTHING took the agony away. I was always in screaming pain for 5-8 hours having at least 3 a day. Then my obgyn prescribed me butal/
acetaminophen/codiene and it helped SO much, within 30 minutes the pain and migraine went away and didn't come back. who knew my obgyn would help better than my doctor? Lol. But now since I'm close to delivery he took the codiene out so the baby wouldn't have withdraws. Ask your doc about this medicine, it helps if yours are anything like mine. And as for natural help, I've tried everything natural out there, even putting peanut butter on my forehead for hours. Nothing worked.

The topomax dulled the pain and was the only thing that did. My doc never mentioned anything else for it. My current migraine has lasted for 4 weeks now. It's horrible. I'll ask my ob about that med and see what he says. Thank youn

I've suffered for years & was also on daily meds. I take 1 extra strength Tylenol every 6 hours and a cup of coffee in the morning. Although it never worked before I was pregnant it does the trick now.
Congrats & Good Luck

I was taking the same meds as babymommaa20 prior to pregnancy.  I got migraines usually a couple times a month.  My last pregnancy the last 8 months or so I didn't have ANY migraines.  The chiropractor said that was common as adrenaline helps combat the migraines.  I haven't taken the meds since I'm still nursing my 1st, and now I'm newly pg with #2 and looking forward to a migraine free run again!! I hope that your experience is similar!

I dont get migraines but I do get headaches bad enough to where it makes my eyes & ears THROB. Tylenol doesnt help any pain I.have & ive tried warm baths to relax & closing my eyes with a cold wash cloth over my face & still nothing. My midwife told me that it could deal with blood pressure but mine has always been fine. And every now & then, ill have a sharp pain go through my head. I dont get it. Its amazing how much pain we can be in & doctors & midwives always say if we have any questions or concerns to let them know but they never do anything & their rude about it.
