Breastfeeding gets much easier as you go on. The babies latch should have mouth the upper lip and the bottom lip out. If you can't see the lips its a bad latch. Also make sure their tongue is down not to the roof of the mouth. When nursing your brest tissue should move a bit. Thats a good indication the latch is a good one.

Ok here you go :
Babies love breastmilk. Remember the rule of 5
5 hours room temperature
5 days refrigerator
5 months freezer section
12 months deep freezer.

Contact a lactation consultant to make sure baby is latching on correctly.

I agree with the other ladues- you can get some nipple cream, coconut oil or just plain old breast milk to rub on your nipple to help alleviate the soreness. Also maybe check with a beat feeding support group like WIC,  who have breast feeding counselors,  or La Leche.  Your midwife or doc can give you the information or a local Internet search. If The latch isn't just right it will continue to cause soreness. They can also check if there's a tongue tie issue which prevents babies grin latching correctly  (the pediatrician can do this also)  Keep offering the breast as much as you can tolerate. They say to try to avoid introducing the bottle for at least a few weeks as it makes it harder for the baby to get the correct latch. You can do it mama. I guarantee one of the things above will help. But if not than pump away.  You're doing great!  To the other mom- frozen breast milk can be safely stored for up to six months.

How long can you freeze breast milk?  I'm having twins and plan on pumping more than actually having them feed off my actual breast just so my husband and mom can help feed them as well. I'd like to make my own baby food and know that breast milk can be used in some foods.  So,  how long can you freeze breast milk for?   Thanks ladies!   And congrats!

I would always  breastfeed then pump as soon as baby was done so hes fed first and anything extra can go in fridge or freezer

Try to pump every 2 hrs or so, did you try a cream on your nipples? I know that basically every place where there's baby stuff there are nipple cream to relieve soreness. I used madela and it really helped me. And yes, i'd still offer the baby my breast, maybe every other feeding. Hope i helped.

Continue to breast feed and pump in between. The more you pump and feed the more milk your body should produce. Its when you cut back on one or both that you'll eventually start to lose milk. And you don't want that.

Do you want to continue breastfeeding? Express some milk and rub it on your nipples. Allow it to air dry. This will help with the soreness. It does get better, I promise. Don't give up :)
