I had to be induced. I was in labor for 19.5 hours. They gave me meds the night before to help me sleep ( best thing ever ) . Lol. The next day, I dont remember much. I know that I dilated up to a 9 & I couldnt dilate anymore. They said I was back up in bowel movements. So they did a process, to make the contractions I was having, to stop hurting because of me being so backed up. But even after that I wouldnt dilate anymore. & he was facing face up. So, they put in the spinal block in my IV, prepped me, then I was good to go. After 10 minutes, my baby boy was out, weighing 9lbs & 2oz. I remember the whole c section process. It wasnt until after where I couldnt remember anything. The next day I was up & at it. In the hospiatl, after the c section do alot of walking, it hurts, but it helps alot. If you do alot of sitting then its makes it crampy & hard to move. Mine incision was dissolving stitches & glue. My experience was great! & doctors told me that first moms, after having their first with a c section, they always chose to have a c section with their other children. Or even in general. I wouldnt have done it differently. I know that. Good luck (:

How far along are u? & may I ask why your doc wants to induced you?
I had both.:)
I had emergency cs with my second pregnancy&end up in ICU..the thing about cs is the recovery is longer than Vbirth. I remember I would still feel the pain for about a year but not as bad when it's cold I feel it & itchy....

I remember taking off the staples from my insicion & taking the huge bandage off it hurts like hell!!! They make u walk also so u won't get blood clot! Can't believe I'm going thru it again...but it was worth it when I saw my baby boy face all th pain went away:) but either way good luck & congrats :))

I was in labor for over 12 hours and my daughter wasn't descending, so they opted for a csection and her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice, so I'm glad they ended up doing the csection. I didn't think it was too bad, I ignored when people said to take it easy though, the second I had my catheter taken out, I got up and took a shower and the next day I was walking around outside. When I got home everything was fine for the first few days and then I noticed that my incision was draining a lot and I called and told my Doctor immediately, I was scheduled to go in and when I went in, they said it was normal, they took my stitches out because it had been a week and then one night I was laying down and went to get out of bed and my incision burst open and started draining all over, I called the doctor again, went back in and they said it was fine, reopened part of it so it could drain more and then I was fine. :) Not as scary as it sounds, either.

Good luck and Congrats!!! :) You'll do great!

I had one with my first and I'll be having one again with my son. I honestly had a great experience. It was an emergency and the baby was out in under 3 minutes and I was in recovery for another 20 minutes getting down up. It was painful for about 3 weeks but I would say my best advice would be to take it slow but stay active and always keep a pillow on your belly for a cough or sneeze. Just brace your belly with the pilloe
