The darker the coffee the less caffeine ! I use to work at Starbucks (;
1-2 cups a day is fine with my doc. I don't drink any other caffeine/soda though. Coffee you brew at home will probably have less caffeine than coffee shop/starbucks.
I would drink strong coffee for the caffeine when I had migraines. Now I don't know what to do.
Check with your dr, obviously, but up to 200 MG of caffeine is supposed to be ok. I was an AVID coffee drinker, like 8-10 cups a day, and have it down to about 2, maybe 3, but my Dr said that because I was used to so much, just quitting would be more stressful...
