diarrhea common in early pregnancy?

Hello ladies. i just found out last week that i am pregnant. in week three before i knew, i had diarrhea. now i am 4 1/2 weeks and i have had diarrhea, followed by constipation and now i have diarrhea again. at first i was really worried about the stomach pains since i had a misscariage last year. but my u/s was normal and the doctor said not to worry.  but i can't help it. is it normal to have these g.i. problems so early?

I have come to know that diarrhea means you are not pregnant. Like progesterone levels are dropping or something. HCG is not strong enough to cause the problem, but Progesterone is...and when that happens...loss early on. This started happening yesterday so I am going to add progesterone to my daily ritual now and see what happens!

Hi - I don have diarrohea but I didnt have the constipation symptoms that most pg women do. I feel I have smoother bowel movements druring pg than pre-pg. Pg does different things to everyone. If your doc tells you its okay - then its okay as long as you don have diarrhoea and fever, chills (may be food poisoning).

Early in my pregnancy I had the exact same thing - alternating diarrhea (with pretty bad stomach pains) and constipation.  I am now 16 weeks and everything is fine.  I hear that this can be pretty common.

I don't know. I'm 18 weeks and I'm having similar problems but early on I was only constipated. Pregnancy does some bizarre things tous.
