Please go with your Dr's interpretation of a test result like this.  What is he or she recommending?

No, platelet counts do not go down in pregnancy. I have essential thrombocythemia, my platelets are high. They are currently 1.875 million which is 6 times the high end of normal. I would discuss your platelet count with your OB and follow up with a specialist if necessary. However, don't be scared. Even with my outrageous counts my baby is doing excellent! Good luck!
