extra sensitive teeth

I'm 30 weeks and have noticed my teeth becoming increasingly more sensitive. Anyone else have this happen? Does it go away after birth?

Sensodyn is good to use. Im a dental nurse so a few tips to help. Dont rinse your mouth when you brush just spit and also if very sense then put some on your finger and rub it in and leave it on like cream.

Thanks :) I went to the dentist and he said that it's because of the various hormones. He specifically said that the baby wasn't taking calcium from me. I've been using toothpaste made for sensitive teeth and that's been helping. I have been craving milk like crazy this pregnancy so I've been getting plenty of calcium. I'm wary of taking extra stuff because I don't keep track closely to know exactly how much I'm getting a day, I just know it's over the recommended daily amount.

I'm just happy there wasn't anything wrong with my teeth and didn't need a root canal. I was thinking I'd have to get one.

Yes the baby is taking your calcium, I started taking extra calcium and my teeth feel better now. But be careful not to take too much, talk to your dr and also get a dental checkup too, pregnancy is hard on your teeth.

Yeah that's no fun. I'm on my third pregnancy and have never had sensitive teeth like this before. I thought something was wrong with me. I've been to the dentist multiple times. I had cavities with my other two. I've been using sensodyne so hopefully that helps. Luckily I only have 2 months left.

Yes, and sometimes my gums bleed.  My hygienist said normal and it should go away.  I didn't have sensitivity with first preg but I did have cavities & had to have a root canal shortly after he was born.  Fun times maxing out on ibuprofen & Tylenol while trying to sleep sitting upright (throbbing pain) one month after giving birth!
