I have 5 fibroids and one of them is quite large and thankfully they didn't bother me one bit during my pregnancy...Some people warned me that they could cause preterm labor but that didn't happen as I went to 41 1/2 weeks!  A lot of people have them and don't even know until they get pregnant.

I was actualy blessed.  Thgey discovered a fibroid when i was pg with my son.  And as my pregnancy prgressed, the fibroid shrank.  During my 6 wks check up, the fibroid was completely gone.  My fibroid was wasn't that large, roughly the half size of a lemon.

I had two of them and had no problems. They watched it and measured it often at first and when they stoped growing they told me all shold be fine.
they also told me I might have discomfort when I got bigger in my later months? I never did..

Hi there,

I have fibroids and went through a couple of times when the pain was horrible.  I was pretty much off my feet during that time.  It lasted about 4 hours and not much could be done to ease the pain.  I was told this could and would happen through out the pregnancy.  I kept active and this seemed to help.  Many women have fibroid and have no issues at all.  The pain is bearable and just know that it does ease up.  I found that the pain started like a sharp cramp and if I kept off my feet it didnt increase.  Hope that helps and remember some women dont experience anything at all!!!  All the best!!

Many fibroids are only discovered for the first time during ultrasounds or they even only develop during pregnancy due to the hormonal overload. I think unless you would have had huge fibroids before or if they were to rupture, you would not notice any symptoms or pain. However, the location is important. If it interferes with or blocks the placenta, I believe the proper development of the placenta might be jeopardized and also if the fibroid grew larger than a size that still leaves room for the fetus to grow. I had one during pregnancy and it was "opposite" of the placenta and just about 1/2" so it was not considered worrisome. Better ask your doctor. They do keep a watchful eye on this during pregnancy. Must be for a good reason.
