hcg doubling too slowly?

I went for my hcg test on 9/6 at 21 dpo and got 1458..two days later, ut was 2313.  My RE seems concerned.  Everything Iv'e read says that past 1200 it is normal for hcg doubling to take 72 hours...I'm at 66.  Why are they so concerned?  I'm going in for an u/s tomorrow and very nervous..

That is too early to tell. Give it another two or three weeks and you'll see two little ones bouncing around with strong heartbeats! Stay positive! <3

Well, the U/S showed two sacs but nothing in them.  I'm either 5 wks 6 days or 6 weeks and should have seen more, but they are not ready to rule out the pregnancy altogether.  All I can do is wait until next week for another ultrasound.  The waiting is killing me!!!

thanks for your kind words.

Don't give symptoms, or lack of, a second thought.  Not everyone gets morning sickness.  I had days I was nauseous all day, super sore breast, the works.  Then, the next day, nothing.  Lots of women cruise through their pregnancies with no symptoms at all.  Good luck, and I'm sure all is fine.

thanks so much.  This is very comforting.  Were you sick with your 19 mo. old?  I'm almost 6 weeks but only have sore, veiny breasts..a little tired but that's it.  of course now I'm worried about that too!!

COngrats on your baby!

My hcg slowed right down after 1200 as well.  And the product of that pregnancy is now 19 months old.  Did they say they are concerned or was it more his demeanor?  It sounds fine to me.  I'm sure you will get good news at your ultrasound tomorrow.  To be honest, unless it's a very slow rise or going down in early pregnancy, most Dr.'s now don't put near the emphasize on hcg levels that they once did.  Early ultrasound tells you so much more.

I know it's always worrisome, but try not to. I'm glad you get an ultrasound tomorrow instead of having to wait, and I hope you'll update us with your good news!
