low progesterone

i have  a progesterone level of 12% and found out i am 6 week pregnant my doctor said to have an abortion because i will most likely miscarry is this correct

I would ask your doctor if you could inject or take some progesterone to save the baby.  I would think your body will take over and abort the child on it's own if something is not right.  I would also change doctors!

My progesterone dropped from 20 to 16 to 11.  My dr put me on progesterone suppositories and my level went up to 39.  That was when I was 6wks pg, now I'm 33.  

I wouldn't wait a minute longer.  Call your dr now and insist he put you on progesterone.

I would definately get a second opinion before you jump in there and terminate!  I just don't get why doctors always suggest that if the numbers are a little low?  Or, like Hannah said, ask for prog supplements and at least try that first.

Definitely get on progesterone suppositories and have them monitor your levels.  Do the shots, if required.  I did suppositories and then 40 nights of shots to keep both my babies.  Worked like a charm!

My level was 11 at 4w and I took suppositories and now am 20w pg with a healthy baby... definitely get another dr.
