lower abdominal cramps

by liza11, Nov 05, 2008 03:12AM
eversince i have started trying to concieve, i ve been having some wierd lower abdominal cramps, which is similar to menstrual cramps.my periods are very regular(28days cycle). the cramping appears around a week after ovulation and continues every now and then till almost few days before the period appears.no much pain during actual period. last month my periods came 5 days later than the expected date and that was quite unusual. this month the cramping has started again.not very painful but bit irritating. could you please tell me if it is something to be concerned about.

Wow, I had the same thing this month.  I dont know what it was, but enough pain at 4 DPO that I cried and needed a heating pad.  I got my AF about 5 days later and had same cramping burning, but not as bad
I'm going to call my Obgyn soon to dicuss it.
I'll keep you posted

have you used any sort of infertility drugs?  My first round of clomid - I had some cramping on my lower left side last month and dr. said that my ovary was swollen because that was where I ovulated from.  I have never had any sort of cramping to speak of so it was wierd for me. My second round of clomid - similar pinching feeling but on both sides this time.  I am told I could have ovulated on both sides as a result of the clomid.  I have my first u/s on Nov. 13 so we'll see...

I was going to say the same thing as Suzie.  I am on clomid, and I have cramping now right around and just after ovulation.  If your worried, I would see your Dr.  If your not on fertility drugs, its still very possible you developed a small ovarian cyst or something (usually not a big issue, but they can hurt a bit). Good luck to you.
