I am 37 weeks pregnant , in my recent scan it has been stated that "few cord loops are found around the vicinity of neck".. my obgyn says that there is very little chance of normal delivery and has asked me to monitor the featal movements... i wish to have a normal delivery.. is there anything i can do for that...?

I agree with adgal.

It is wonderful that they detected this now rather than after it caused your baby to go into distress during delivery. Loss of blood flow to the brain can cause serious birth injuries leading to brain damage in your baby. MUCH better to have a c-section than chance permanent injury to your baby.

Also, with a planned c-section, you have options...you can STILL have a good experience and bond with your baby right in the delivery room. Let your doctor know you want to hold and nurse your baby ASAP...unless there is a problem they can give you baby as soon as he/she comes out...just as if you had a vaginal birth.

Well, in all honesty, I do not think there is anything that you can do to change this.  However, the wonderful part of this is that we do live in a time where these things are caught ahead of time, ensuring that your Dr. can do what needs to be done to ensure baby arrives safe and sound.  I understand your disappointment over not being able to have a vaginal delivery.  I was disappointed as well that I required a c section.  But I can tell you this...when you are holding that little one in your arms and he or she is all pink, healthy and safe, it truly will not matter to you how they got here, just that they are here and safe. Trust me on that.  It will all be just fine.  All the best to you, and wishing you a healthy remainder of your pregnancy, and a safe delivery.
