pregnant at 49

I really want to have another baby.  I think I might be pregnant again.  I am 3 weeks late on  my period, and I have always been on time.  I had a miscarriage last year, but the doctor said I am in great health. My hormone levels are fine, and I don't have any symptoms of menopause  yet.  I know I am at high risk for miscarriages, because of my age. Is there anything I can do to carry this baby full term. I exercise, eat right, I'm not overweight, and I take vitamins daily.  I don't drink or smoke..  My husband would really like another child, since our other children are grown and out of the house. We both miss the care of a baby.

Hi!

This sounds exciting, but don't get too excited until you do a pregnancy test. We're all waiting to see what the result is!

I am 44 and TTC my first.

Congrats if you are, I am 43 and trying to conceive my last baby. I don't for one minute want to spoil your excitement but you may be entering what they call peri menopause. Go and get some blood tests done asap and that will tell you for sure. all the best

It sounds to me like you are already doing everything that you should be to carry to full term.  Have u done a pregnancy test yet??  Just have to take it easy and all.  I just found out that I am pregnant myself and I am nervous too b/c I already have twins so I guess we will see in a few wks how many peanuts I have in my belly.  I don't drink or smoke and I take my vitamins and I try and eat right too.  Good luck to u and let me know how everything turns out.  By the way I have a friend of mine that had a baby at 42 and he is happy and healthy so I think u will be fine.
