Creams may help with the itch but if you gain weight quickly and have the type of skin that makes stretch marks you will get stretch marks.
It annoys me that creams claim to prevent them as they don't penetrate deep enough to do this.
Creams and oils do help your skin feel better though so I put some nature baby oil on my tum after showering.
well idk bout that.
i go crazy with lotion and this is my second kid and i have 0 stretch marks. lotion lotion and more lotion everyday
Mustela. My genes are terrible : ) and i didnt have a single strech mark.
I'm glad you ladies responded the way you did. Every time I've posted that they were not preventable, I got shut down. It really does have to do with how much weight you gain and genetics. Stretch marks come from below the surface of the skin, creams and oils don't penetrate that far. They're only good for topical layers. I feel better seeing your responses.
I agree about the genetics aspect but I used bio oil the first time ands feel it helped reduce them. I changed it up and am using body butter this time as the bio oil smell bothers me this time
One way is to watch how much weight you're gaining. If you do it slowly then you'll be less likely to have a bunch right away. But other than that its genetics. Im going to use bio oil after my bub is here
Bio oil and also almond oil. Apply all over thighs too and bum / muffin tops. Apply as soon as u feel stretching or itching.
Bio oil has worked miracles for me. Kept most of them away and faded the ones I already have
Palmers cocoa tummy butter has been a miracle for me. I have no marks on my tummy at all. I do have some on my back side in the hip area, but they're very light & I give credit to the daily applications of tummy butter & palmers cocoa lotion to my butt, hips, & thighs.
They are genetic you can't prevent them.
But once you have them use maderma scar cream to fade them and take them away
