I live in TN and they just recently passed a law that if you/baby test positive for *narcotics at birth you will be charged with child abuse. BUT my doctor still assures me they will not do that for thc. In fact, nicu nurses are trying to get thc taken off the panal, He also said they do not typically test meconium because it is too expensive. Weed is the only thing that has kept me sain and able to eat during this pregnancy, and I have been honest with my doc the whole way. I am still worried about possible repercussions if a test were to come back positive at birth which is why I am quitting now at 29 weeks. Doctors prescribe anti-nausea pills all the time that are tied to birth defects, I chose weed over pills and I would do it again.
In Syracuse they just send you to rehab and open a CPS case. I smoked with my second child right before I went in labor in he's very smart and they didn't take him from me. But your best bet is to quit I don't smoke now and I'm having my 3rd child I don't have time to go threw CPS again.
From what I understand (and alid32 you might know better since you are a nurse) they can't do a drug test (with the exception of a few states) without the mother's permission.
Anyone who does it wile oreg is selfish but I disagree wiyh being snatched away as weed isnt the worse thing out therr but yes shud agree to *** off it n do test ect
In many cases they will. My sister tested positive for pot when she had my nephew but they baby's levels werent high enough to take him away. Instead child services came to her house once a week and she drug tested once a week. If at any point drug levels in her system rose they would take her son. My uncles girlfriend (different state) tested positive and they took her daughter and terminated her rights automatically so she will never see her daughter (she had already losy custody of one child for drugs though which is why they went harder for this one)
In the USA they do take your baby for drug use while pregnant unless you admit to it and agree to go into treatment.
Where are u guys from? In the UK you wouldn't have ur baby taken even if it was tested for heroin. You would get help and support unless you were a real scab x
And you can not drink aloe while pregnant. Its safe to use on your skin but when you drink it, it works as a blood thinner and can make you or baby bleed. Its NOT to be swallowed while pregnant.
Why are you smoking weed while pregnant? Yes they will take them. My friend adopted a little boy last year and he tested for thc, he spent 2 weeks in a state nursery before either mother could get him even though it wasnt adopting moms fault. You asked this in the 35+ section. Go talk to your doctor so you can deal with it now before its too late. Better now than after delivery when they cant help you.
**** datt .... mii doctor sed I could smoke so that I could eat but once I can continue eating without it then stop but there is no affect to the babii obviously. ... but I do believe they will still take the babii so stop smoking , drink cranberry juice, & boil aloe plant
