shampoo, conditioner, and gel

Hi Everyone,
As far as you know are there any restrictions on shampoo, conditioner, or hair gels, such as straightening balm during pregnancy. I understand that hair straightening in the salon or highlighting is questionable but I don't know about any shampoos, conditioners or gels that might be harmful. Is there a certain INGREDIENT in these products to stay clear of? Thanks everyone!

I am a hairstylist and I have 3 beautiful boys, I have been doing hair for 17 years, working with the chemicals, haircolor, bleach , perms and my children turned out just fine.  I know  some women are afraid of the stuff but it won't hurt you or the baby.. If it were harmful  you would get sick everytime you had your hair done, think about it. It doesn't go into your bloodstream or you would become very sick.  Just don't hang your head over the bowl while getting it colored, you would probably just get high off of the fumes. My boys are all very smart with high I.Q.'s so don't worry, go get your hair done and feel good about it ! :)

I agree with RDH.  I think it's pretty unlikely that shampoos, etc would do anything harmful.  Congratulations, and good luck on your pregnancy!!

I have never heard of any restrictions on hair products. I just stay away from hair colors and chemical treated procedures. Many women still undergo these things during pregnancy, but I am to much of a scaredy cat.

I would say regular shampoo, conditioners and hair gels should be all good!!!!!
