Cholestasis is a severe itching,  mostly in your hands and feet, due the your body's inability to break down the bile your liver creates. I have it. I itch every where, but the itching on the bottoms of my feet is different, almost painful to the touch. I'm on medication and being induced 3 weeks prior to my due date to mitigate any risk of stillbirth and complications in delivering. You sound like you just have dry skin, and it's worse when it's stretching.

It's the dead of winter in Canada so many people have exema. I recently developed it on my hands.... So I use 100% African shea butter. Best oil ever!!! It's heavy and solid though so best used in cold months. Has also helped prevent stretch marks and all dry patches.

I live in a dry area and I have found a great and easy way to help my skin look  great and stay moisturized. Coconut oil  (that jar of stuff that looks like Cristo) just a little in the shower all over body and wash like normal.

I would try just plain old Vaseline to moisturize or baby oil gel. I have used both and they work great. I even keep the vaseline next to bed and have to apply at night just before going to bed. Helps a lot with itchy tummy.

I was just going to post the same question about itching when I saw this. I am 12 weeks along. I read that cholestasis happens in last trimester and has to do with your gallbladder. I had my gallbladder removed years ago. I thought it may be dry skin due to this severe cold we are having in the Notheast. I am going to discuss with my OB during next visit but wanted to see if any of you ladies were going through the same. Please let me know what you find helps because this itching is just too much!

You can soak in tub in aveeno colloidal oatmeal bath.  It might help.  Make sure you discuss with doc.  Severe itching can be complication of pregnancy--cholestasis.  I use palmers cocoa butter or cetaphil cream for moisturizing.  My hands have been really dry but no itching.
