symptoms

I'm worried (of course)  about my lack of symptoms.  My breasts are not really sore during the day.  They were sore off and on but now nothing really.  During the night they get sore, but by the time I get up in the morning all that is gone.  they are a bit bigger, but that seems to vary too.  Sometimes they are much bigger and then all of a sudden they are not.  My nausea still comes and goes but yesterday from about noon on I didn't have much at all.

And what's really weird (for those of you who read my progesterone thread will understnad how weird this is) the progesterone is not making me sick anymore.  The last 2 doses didn't bother me at all.

So of course I'm worried.  Every little thing worries me.  Why aren't my breasts hurting all the time?  That's one of the most significant symptoms, isn't is?

I think I'm going to call my doc tomorrow and insist on one more lab, just to make sure everything is going up like it should.  I know there is nothing I can do about it if it isn't.  It's just that the longer I believe things are okay the more attached I get to this pregnancy and if something does go wrong the more devestated I'll be.  If I know sooner, rather than later, that something is wrong, then it will be easier; still hard, but not as hard as it will be if I go on for the next 2 weeks thinking things are good and then in 2 weeks find out they're not.

sorry if I post too much here.  I'm going to try and take my mind off all this, but it's so hard.  People tell me to just go on living life and don't think about it right now, ummmmm right, like I could do that.  Would love thoughts on my symptom concern.  Take care everybody and have a good day.

I am 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I have had very few symptoms with this pregnancy. zero morning sickness, some breast tenderness in 1st and 2nd trimester...and I am still hardly showing. Baby is healthy and growing (due to my age and having developed gestational diabetes I go in for a biophysical profile and an NST each week and the baby is doing GREAT).

I've never had 1st trimester symptoms and my babies have all been healthy and full term :)

Not true at all....if it weren't for a missed period I would have no idea I was pregnant. I went to the dr today and saw a lively 11 week old baby with a heartbeat! So it's very possible to have no symtoms and have everything go right :)

Nope.  Has nothing to do with hormone levels, just how your body is reacting to them.  You can have really strong symptoms even while miscarrying, and no symptoms with a healthy pregnancy.  And each pregnancy can be different.

Thank you very much, adgal.
I really hope "Symptoms (or lack of) are not any indication at all of the health of the pregnancy", because I thought lack of symptoms might indicate lack of hormones.

Just remember that not only is every women different, so is every pregnancy.  Symptoms (or lack of) are not any indication at all of the health of the pregnancy.  All it is is a reaction to hormones.  The only time you may think about it a bit is if there a sudden complete cessation of symptoms..sort of an overnight thing.  And that is only if you are early in your pregnancy. Having that happen does NOT mean anything is wrong, but does warrant a call to your Dr. just to be on the safe side.

I am exactly in the same shoes. The symptoms come and go. When they came, I suffered bad; but they gone, I worried bad. Not easy for sure, but try hard not to worry too much. My previous two pregnancies put me right down, sick from the beginning to the end.

thank you all.  I feel a bit calmer about all this.

Heather5, when i was pregnant the first time I had really huge sore breasts and was sick from morning to night and everybody kept telling me that those were really good signs of a healthy pregnancy, but that one ended in miscarriage. So maybe I should stop comparing this expereince with that one bc that one didn't end well.

Again, thank you all for taking the time to share.  It's so helpful to be able to put stuff here and get other's experiences.

Umm...did I somehow miss you were expecting again?  Or am I just having short term memory loss..lol.  Anything is possible with incredible sleep deprivation.  But CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! That is fantastic news, and so glad to hear all is going well.  Ok, that's a whole bunch of you that have little ones the same age as my little guy, and your all pregnant again.  Hopefully it's contagious..lol.  Seriously though, super happy for you and wishing you a healthy happy remainder.

OK...you want to hear something interesting? I had all the pregnancy symptoms in the world (except for nausea....never had that) in my first two pregnancies...and both ended in miscarriages. Then after trying forever to get pregnant again, we finally ended up doing IVF, and it worked! But that time, other than some minor cramping and slightly tender breasts on and off, I really didn't have any symptoms at all. It totally freaked me out, and I kept expecting bad news at my next appointment, but low and behold, everything in that pregnancy was textbook, and I now have a beautiful 21-month old baby girl! I'm now pregnant again (unexpectedly). I'm 6 1/2 weeks along with EVEN LESS symptoms than last time. My breast aren't really tender at all, and I really don't have many cramps either. Other than being bloated, I don't really feel pregnant at all. But my HCG increase has been excellent, my progesterone great, and we just saw the heartbeat last week! I still have a long way to go until we get to the second trimester, but I'm not as stressed about it as I was last time. Had it not been for my previous pregnancy, I probably would have been worrying a lot more about the lack of symptoms, but now I know that lack of symptoms aren't necessarily a bad thing. Anyway, just thought I'd share... Best of luck with everything!

My symptoms came and went too.  And like you I always worried about it.  Eventually, as I became more reassured that all was well, I began to think of those days as my "days' off".  Also, as Jo said, second trimester is the honeymoon trimester.  Except for the growing belly, it would have been easy to forget I was even pregnant.

Peace of mind is worth a great deal.  Never hesitate to contact your Dr. and request labs, or an ultrasound which is the best indicator all is well.

Symptoms come and go.  I was really paranoid with number 3 because I had no symptoms except slight cramping but all turned out fine.  My bbs didn't get sore until I was almost full term and even then they weren't that sore.   And as far as the progesterone it never made me sick and I never had any side effects from it at all.(taken it 5 times) its so hard to not stress!  Good luck to u.

How far along are you?  If you're close to 12 weeks, then it's likely you're hitting the best trimester -- the second one!  It's my understanding that what happens is that the body starts adjusting to all of the hormones so the symptoms of the first trimester start to reduce and the pregnant brain starts to kick in.  Soon you'll start forgetting everything and be blissfully ignorant of most of what's going on around you ;-)  (well, sort of).  As for the fluctuating symptoms, I think that's normal too.  My girlfriend and I are pg at the same time.  Her breasts are huge and swollen and sore.  Mine are just sort of growing and my symptoms sound similar to yours -- sometimes yes, sometimes no.  My last u/s (9 wks) confirmed that the baby was growing and had a good heartbeat.  So long as there's no bleeding and/or cramping, then there shouldn't be anything to worry about.  If you're really concerned then for sure call your doc.  It'll help put your mind at ease.  Keep posting!
