Well, there is alot of advice on the internet about conceiving a particular gender, but honestly, I don't think there is anything to it.  It's just luck of the draw as far as I am concerned.  I wish you luck though.

When I was going to my RE he said that there were ways to change the odds but not guarantee anything, for a girl he said, BD 24 to 36 hours before ovulation, in the missionary postion, as male sperm swim faster but die faster,so you would want the sprem to have been hanging around for a while, we did not ever get pregnant while going to him so not sure if it work, but that is what he said, hope it helps

The 15th of each month, now that's regular. Or maybe you mean 15 days into your cycle. Julia's advice is correct. You should bd on days 11 and 12 or so and hold off on day 14 and 15 for a girl (not guaranteed but could increase the chances). I tried this for months but got sick of not getting pregnant and did it on ovulation day, got pregnant, and had a boy. Now I just want another baby and don't care about the sex.

I know two people who followed this and one has 2 boys and 2 girls and one has 2 girls and a boy, just as they wanted.

Good luck.

The later in your ovulation that you conceive, you have a better chance at a girl. As the egg gets weaker, it is easier for female sperm to penetrate and like the lady above said, males are faster but die quicker. So that also helps your odds. I know the exact dates that I conceived my children. With my boys it would have been the day of ovulation and with my girl, it was within a day or two after I ovulated. Back then, I wasn't using opk's because I wasn't trying to conceive. I was much younger. Anyway, I knew when my body ovulated...I felt it every month. I also know that my sexual activity was very limited so the dates of conception are a definite!!! Best of luck. Two of my girlfriends tried the way I suggested and got what they wanted. Could be just luck but I don't believe that. I wanted a boy for the first baby and got a girl. Best of luck.

I agree with Adgal...it is the luck of the draw...no pun intended : )

Sometimes it depends on your husband chromosome... If he carries Y chromosomes more then X chromosomes, then the chance to have baby girl is hard...  Like other said, you might want to BD couple days before the ovulation so the Y sperms can die first before the X sperms.

good luck to you.

On the contrary, there is a way to have a girl, but all the planets need to be in alignment...otherwise you need to know your cycle, timing, etc.   Here's your best chance for conceiving a girl....at least it improves your odds.    Your cycle needs to be regular and you need to have an idea when you ovulate.  For example a regular cycle is 28 days and you ovulate on the 14th day.

Based on that you need to know that sperm lives for up to 96 hours in the uterus when there are fertile conditions.  Those are the girl sperms.  The boy sperms live for 48 hours.  Other things to know...girls sperm swim slower but they live longer, boy sperm swim faster but live shorter.   So the trick is to have intercourse on CD 10 and CD 11 of your cycle.  Hence come the time you ovulate all the boy sperms will have died out and there will be just girl sperm remaining......that is theorhetically the trick.

No if you want a boy, you need to have sex closer to the time of ovulation or day of ovulation -- then the boys race to the top and get there first before any girls make itup there.    Of course I can't say this is fail proof, but you'll have a better shot a girl or boy.

There is a surefire way too of having a girl, but it will probably run you about $25K to $30K (maybe more) and it may be considered unethical by some.....but here it goes in case you ahve a lot of dough to burn.

You'd have to take ovarian stimulating drugs, have your eggs removed by a doctor and fertilized outside the body, the when the eggs get fertilized you can send them off for pre-genetic diagnosis and they can tell from that which ones are girls and which ones are boys.   Then they just transfer the girls or boy back into your uterus and you keep your fingers crossed an hope for the best.

You can also spin sperm in the laboratory. It ups your odds to 80% with girls. Then you would need intrauterine insemination. The cost is much less than IVF and pre-genetic diagnosis. I was already undergoing IVF, have 2 boys of my own, and 3 older stepsons. We did spin his sperm (about 500 dollars) and I did have a girl.

I never knew about the sperm spin!
