I have pcos now going on 20yrs. The doctors gave me metformin, birth control and clomid at different times to regulate my periods and ovulate. I stopped taking medication and regulated it with exercise and diet. I just recently got back on clomid last yr and concieved in Feb. I'm 35 wks, no complications. I never thought I would be pregnant in a million yes but it happened. I also think reducing my stress and not ruminating about it so much helped with. So it can be done.
I have pcos as well. With my 2 yr old, I was on metformin for about 7 months when I conceived. I am now pregnant with my second. This time I tried clomid for 6 cycles the switched to letrozole. After 4 cycles (and about to just go back to metformin) I finally conceived. Good luck!
Hello, I too have PCOS and insulin resistance. I was on clomid but still not ovulating for several months. My endocrinologist put me on metformin as well and both my doctors agreed it might help with conception. I was also told to cut out simple carbs and refined sugar. After 3 months of metformin and monthly clomid cycles I finally ovulated in August. And amazingly I conceived the same month. Just had my first prenatal visit and saw the heartbeat yesterday! Keep your hopes up, it can happen even with PCOS!
