This is true they are not 100% guaranteed. I think mostly because of the position of the baby. But rarely does this occur, in most cases if the dr/nurse cannot give u an accurate reading they will not just guess the sex of the baby. 9 times out of 10 your dr is right. I have had a few ultrasounds and each time it has been the same, it confirmed that I am having a boy. I won't know if they are correct for sure until he is here. I am 32 weeks.
I think they are fairly accurate, but not 100%. I do have a friend that was told she was having a boy and it ended up being a girl. But I don't think that happens very often.
