underdeveloped sack...what does that mean

by DFick, Oct 15, 2007 05:54PM
I just went in for my third u/s today. I have been bleeding ever since my first appt. which was almost 3 weeks ago. I'm now approx 9 weeks. My DR says that my sack is underdeveloped. The baby has grown and the heart beat is fine, but what are the chances that the sack will start to grow with the baby? If it doesn't grow with the baby, then what? At what point in the pregnancy will there be an issue? I'm concerned.

I'm sorry, I've never heard of that either.  Please let us know what happens.

Not sure either. Turns out it is the gestanial sack. I will be going back to DR on Thursday for another u/s. Bleeding has stopped, but I don't think that had anything to do with the underdeveloped sack. Trying to stay positive and praying alot.

My gestational sac was measuring 2 weeks small with my last baby. They thought I might miscarry, but by 13 weeks the sac caught up and measured perfectly. I was 9 weeks when they told me my sac was too small also. I had a healthy baby girl.
