unexplained bleeding

Hi, I just had my embryo transfer done on July 25th. Two embryos, Grade 1 and Grade 2. My doctor told me that my chances were excellent.  He told me to go back in eleven days for pregnancy test.  Six days after transfer I started bleeding, what looks like my period because so far it is lasting for 3 days now, flowing, and continuing. I called the clinic to tell them what is happening and  I spoke to the fertility nurse and she has no idea why this is happening and told me she would let the doctor know but that I should still go in for my pregnancy test on the eleventh day after my transfer and continue with my progesterones. It is day 8 for me now and I am still bleeding. I spoke to a different fertility nurse today and she asked another doctor there and they want me to go in and do a pregnancy test tomorow. I asked her if that wasn't too early and she said "no", that it's been 9 days since my transfer and it would be fine. Now, the only is,I am very confused. Why didn't my doctor call me out of concern and why didn't my nurse tell me to go in sooner for a pregnancy test, and why was I told to continue to take Promedium and progesterone suppositories if maybe they are causing the vaginal bleeding as a side effect? I don't know if I should still go in tomorrow for pregnancy test or wait till Tues. (eleventh day)? Today I woke up feeling a bit nauseous. HELP! Has anyone gone through this bleeding and what was the outcome? Could I still be pregnant or is it lost hope? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I  thank all of you for your input. No, my day eleven is not for another 3 days. In the meantime I will continue taking my meds and hope for the best. I am so depressed right now. I am really wishing that this dosn't mean the end. I only have two more embryos left. That means I only get one more try at it before it's all over. We have no more money left to put into this and we have already re-mortgaged our house three times now, let alone the emotional torment that goes along with this. I really hope that God hears my prayers and feels our pain throughout all of this, enough to bless us with the precious gift of a baby. Thank You all for your help and prayers and I wish all of you the best of luck and prayers from me to you too. I will keep you informed as to the outcome of my pregnancy test which will be done on August 5th.

Mary,
for me bleeding started at 6 weeks and lasted through the whole first trimester, till my hematoma bled out.  I know someone who started bleeding around 4-5 weeks for the same reason.  We both had very heavy bleeding with clots and tissue.  It was MUCH heavier than my regular AF.

Has your day 11 come up yet to take a pregnancy test.  Did you by chance take a home pregnancy test even though they tell not to.  I hope things go well for you and good luck.  I have tried 6 different cycles through IVF and no luck.

I am praying for you and I want you to be pregnant, as I know IVF cycle are painful and fustrating.  Good luck.

Hi, thank you for your help. My question is, if you don't mind me asking , was your bleeding like a regular period, and how many days did it last? Also, did you turn out to be pregnant?

I was bleeding through my early pregnancy due to a hematoma.  Sometimes, if two embryos implanted and you may be m/c one of them you may have the bleeding as well.  After my ivf I was told to keep taking progesterone till my beta even if I get the bleeding.  I guess that is the safe guideline.
