varicose veins

Hi ladies,
while I am yet to receive any stretch marks, the veins in my legs are dark blue and beginning to bulge and I have red spider veins at the back of my knees. Rather unsightly, especially as we are heading into summer where I live.
Anyone have experience reducing these? Did they go away after birth or am I stuck with them for good?

Thanks ladies, I exercise everyday and am so vigilant about putting my feet up when I can but I do work on my feet for up to 12 hours at a time so should have probably been a little more prepared.  Will look into compression stockings as I still have 17 weeks to go!

I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.

Compression stocking may help, but not something you can really wear with shorts. They may fade or go away after you have the baby.

Here's hoping! They're actually quite achey.

I've heard they fade with time, as your total blood volume decreases. No idea how to help to reduce...but good luck!  Will all be worth it :)
