worried

my wife is 35 she was pregnant w/ twins 3 yrs ago we lost one and our son was born @ 28 weeks he is completely fine she was diagnosed w/ helpp syndrome.... we are now 10 weeks and very aprehensive we are both nervous because of last time......but my real question is i am on a methadone maintence program now i was wondering (hoping it's not too late ) if paternal methadone use has any affect on the fetus please help me

I think its probably also a good idea to talk to your wifes obgyn.  I do know that some male medications, etc. can have an impact, I'm just not sure which ones.  I am sure her dr. can do testing to see if anything has been impacted.  Try not to worry too much, but definately talk to the Dr.  Its so important to be straight with him/her about anything that could even potentially impact the health of a fetus.
