My midwife told me labor hasn't really started until 4cm and that those 4cm can take anything from weeks to hours.
so I guess the answer is... no one knows...
I hope it all goes well for you!
I have been 100% effaced and 1 cm dilated for over 4 months. I am pregnant with twins and 36 weeks 4 days. So I guess everyone is different and you never know, I've been checked for dilation weekly and no progress despite ongoing contractions for months. You are not "in labor" until 4 cm dilated. I don't know about you, but I sure feel ready though!
Ohh, not even sure I should tell you this, but I was 1cm and had mild contractions for about 10 days or so. It's really hard to say...could happen anytime or the little one may make you wait a bit longer. So close now though...good luck!!
have you had a show or have any lower back pain? its hard to say, even roughly. it may be a long labour which is why the first and 2nd cm are far apart but if your waters break it may be instant. have you had a show? this can happen 7-10 days before baby is born. walking may speed the process up although with your cervix opened it may be prone to infection x
Well I was dilated 3 cm from the time I was 7 months. So going from that is really hard to tell.
