I had the 1 hr glucose at 12 weeks which I've been told often gives false positives and mine did.  I had the 3 hr test done a week later and all was good.  Due to being over 35 I had to have it again when I was about 28 weeks and again all was normal.  I will say if you can request a flavor of the drink, the fruit punch was the easiest to go down.  I had the orange then the fruit punch then lime which wasn't too bad either.  You definatly want to fast for this test though and eat as soon as your done w/it b/c if you don't you can get sick later in the day like I did from not eating at all.  I had the shakes really bad after my last test, was nauseous, light-headed, I broke into a sweat all over including my feet, had a terrible headache.  All of this hit about 4-5 hours after taking the test but felt better wihin a few minutes after I ate and I also ate a lot of bread which seemed to help too.  You should do fine and I wouldn't worry about anything.  Just eat as soon as you finish and you should feel ok.

I wasn't told to do the glucose testing until week 26-28...13 weeks sounds so early??  You should be fine...just to warn you I also fasted and I felt so sick after drinking that stuff....totally light headed and shakey...they had to have me lie down!!!  I was so scared I failed it but I passed it with flying colors...I'm sure you'll do great.

Is this a normal test at the 13wk mark? I won't be seeing my midwife again until I'm nearly 16wks and nothing has been mentioned about glucose testing. You'd think with one look at my pre-pregnancy start weight and they'd have stuck the needle in right there on the scale!

I wouldn't worry, they didn't even have me fast for my 1 hours test.  Which I failed, so maybe they should have. I took the 3 hour test (with fasting) and passed that one.  Not by much, but I passed.

best of luck to you.
