44 and just got my BFP!!! TTC Naturally!!
I wanted to announce that I got my BFP yesterday afternoon. I am 44 years young and have been ttc what seems like forever. I have 2 boys ages 9-13.I have been a member of this 35+ forum for 8 months now.
I tried clomid for 3 months and then decided to try with only natural suppliments. I took a prenatal vitamin, Baby aspirin, and Folic acid. Then last month I bought Evening Primrose Oil and Vitex.I used EPO from cd1 till ovulation.I onlt was able to take a few Vitex just before I O'd. I truly believe that it was taking the EPO that did it ,as I have had hostile mucus(dry or sticky) for 7 months now.The EPO changed everything.I actually had fertile EW mucus and my AF was alot lighter.It also helped increase my sex drive.
I want to say THANK YOU to all of you wonderful ladies!! Without all of your support I would have given up a long time ago. I believe that anything is possible now!!

lol yes it takes a lil while to catch on but belive me it will stick , BFP = big fat positive, and AF= THE WITCH = AUNT FLOW... hate that women lol sendng you all bug hugs and CONGRATS !!!! yayayayy we all love seeing them BFP's *:O) erika

I'm wondering what AF stands for. I see from the context that it has something to do with getting your period, but I can't figure out what it stands for. Also, what does BFP stand for? Seems to be something to do with a pg test, but, again, I can't figure it out.

I did use Vitex but I started riiiight before I got my BFP so I dunno if it had any effect. I do have a girlfriend who took it (in the Fertility Blend supplements) and swears by it. Unlike some herbs-- which can do more harm than good depending on what your actual fertility 'issue' is-- Vitex is prescribed for general uterine & ovarian health. Supposedly it improves egg quality and luteal phase. Good luck!!!

Did you use the Vitex-Chasteberry as well? I just started the EPO today (Barleans Brand). I have heard of Udo's EO, but have never used it. Congrats to you on your BFP too. ;o)

Regarding EPO, there is also a great product called Udo's Essential Oil that is a blend of EPO and other great oils like flaxseed. I really love it and it tastes awesome on salads too. You can find it at Whole Foods or similar stores. It has to be refrigerated and it can't be used for cooking. I just put it in fruit shakes with some protein powder and you can't even taste it. Or on salads with some apple cider vinegar- so tasty! :)
CONGRATS selaiwa!! I was on EPO for the 2.5 months between my miscarriage and conceiving again. It is soo good for you, I'm sure it was part of what helped! :) :)

Thanks so much!!! I'm going right out and buy it. Maybe it will also help AF along and regulate me after that. Every week that goes by and AF isn't here I take hpt's and I get soooooo sad because they are all negative. Keep us posted on your progress. I am looking forward to hearing about your journey into babyhood!!
I bought mine at Meijers.It is also available at many drug stores and online.It costs around $7.00 per bottle.
Where can I find it? Do drug stores carry it or do you have to get it in a health food store? I am 40 and trying to conceive as well. I take prenatal, baby asprin, and folic acid as well. My problem is that I haven't had a period since July 1st. I am NOT going through menopause either and all my tests have come back normal. I have had a lot of stress since the summer and I believe that has been the problem. Thanks for the help and I am sooooooooo happy for you that you were able to conceive!!!!! Ladies like you are what keep me going even when I want to give up!! How far along are you? Best wishes and send some of that baby dust my way...LOL!!!

EPO is Evening Primrose Oil.It comes as a pill form.It is a natural way to increase your fertile mucus and help normalize your hormones to provide the best possible environment for achieving pregnancy.It also helps with menstruation so that you do not have as many clots(sorry if TMI). I was in the best mood also and it helped increase my sex drive. You are supposed to take 2000- 3000 mg a day starting from 1st day of your period till you ovulate. Quite a few of us "older ladies" have had great success with it!

Congratulations!!!! Welcome to the club. We could all go through all of the pregnancy stuff together. The moods, feelings and all. I am so happy for you. BFP are a good thing.... I finally got my BFP almost a month ago after trying for 6 months so my hubby and I are so thrilled about it. I go for my 1st u/s on Tues. I can't wait anymore. The waiting just kills me. I can't wait to see my little peanut on that screen. Feel good and keep us posted. Congrats again...
