5 Weeks pregnant ultrasound shows a sack but no baby

I went to the Dr. to confirm my pregnancy and they made me do a urine test an it came back positive so they drew blood and I told them when my last period was and they thought I might be 6 weeks but i'm actually just 5 weeks. I went and they took me to get the ultrasound it was a vaginal one and it showed a black dot thing and they said that it was the sack but there wasn't a baby or a heart beat so they told me I was actually 5 weeks not 6 weeks. I go back March 19, 2014. they said it should show the baby by then. is that normal for them not to see the baby at 5 weeks this is my first baby and i'm only 17 and I don't know for sure what's going on help please..

Update I got the ultrasound up <3 6 weeks and 6 days today

Don't worry about it, I experienced the same thing & I completely freaked out & cried... If your hormone levels are fine then give it some time & soon enough you will hear a heartbeat ❤️

That happen to me too, the dr scared me but he toldme to go back at the 9th week to see if there was a baby and there it was!!! Im now 35 weeks pregnant with my fist baby!!
So dont get scared!! Just be patient!!

With my first born they actually told me I could have had a miscarriage because there was no baby because they thought I was 9 weeks and I was really 5!

Yup it's normal your next ultrasound should show the baby but sometimes the heartbeat comes @ 9 weeks or a bit later.
