I went to the acupuncturist who I was referred to by my chiropractor as someone who specializes in fertility. She was anxious about seeing me yesterday when I told her I was spotting and told me to come back if I had symptoms. All she could help me with was stress and anxiety, and I have to say, I was more relaxed after my decaf latte from starbucks. Are there special points your acupuncturists use or do they just deal with stress. She recommended herbs to prevent miscarriage instead of acupuncture. I really don't know what to do now...
Hi -
I started going to an acupuncturist on a weekly basis while TTC because I was suffering repeat miscarriages (and then a failure to get pregnant at all) and traditional fertility treatments were not working. After 6 months of weekly acupuncture, I got my BFP! I'm now 29 weeks pregnant and continue to see my acupuncturist weekly; however, will begin seeing him only every other week now that I'm in my 3rd trimester. I love it and I truly believe acupuncture along with other advice and treatments my acupuncturist has provided (e.g., dietary, herbal, etc.) has been instrumental in my ability to have a successful, healthy pregnancy and ultimately a successful, healthy baby. Best of luck!
Hey Patty, I did acupuncture every week with an acupuncturist who specialises in fertility/loss. As per her advice I kept on going until 13 weeks. XOX
Thanks ladies. I want to go, and really want to go to the best, but just wanted to get ideas about how much it was going to cost me. Knowing that general schedule renny320, I think I can go to her and afford it! Thank you for all your comments. I've been checking like crazy all day!!
I've been doing acupuncture. I started it to help with the whole IVF process and now that I have gotten my bfp I have chosen to continue with it. I asked my acupuncturist how often I should come now that I am pregnant and he said one a week until I am 7 weeks pregnant, then every other week until I am 12 weeks along and once a month after that. I love my acupuncture sessions, but as sharpgirl said, make sure you find someone who knows what they are doing, preferably someone who specializes with fertility because they will know the spots to avoid when you are pregnant.
its typically used for fertility and also to help with an overdue labour and labour itself, it can also be used to help treat morning sickness, there is no set fast rule as to how often you need to go once pregnant, your acupuncturist will advise on how many visits are necessary
Acupuncture is great,!!! U just have to go to someone who knows what their doing!!!
