Am I Having a misacrriage?

Hi everybody, an help, please. I'm very worry because I don't know if my pregnancy is going fine. I'm 42 years old, I did a beta HCG test on the 26th November and the result was 55. Then I began to have some light bleeding. I took another HCG test on Friday 30th November and the result was 149. After that, I start to bleed heavely, just like the menstruation. My gynecology told me to rest at bed. I did so and after a terrible week end I took another HCG test on Monday 3rd. of Dicember. The result was: 550. Is it possible I'm still pregnant? How many days take after a miscarriage tfor the HCG levels to go down?

seems to me that both of you (manzana & jade) hcg levels are increasing. if you were miscarrying, you hcg levels would either stand still or go down. i have had many friends bleed off and on throughout pregnancies, and carry babies to term. my doc is really monitoring my hcg levels, on 11/21 35, 11/25 stuck at 35, 11/27 up to 80.1, 11/29 114, 12/1 348, and have been increasing until 12/14 6600 (but the doc wanted to see them up to 7600). They have been increasing, but not completely like the doctors want, but still treating it as a pregnancy until numbers stop or go down. Have had two u/s, nothing seen on first (at 6 wks) sac and possible h/b on 2nd (7wks) and doing another at 7 wks 5 days...rollercoaster, but still possible! still taking the progesterone and hoping for the best!
Also, mine was a FET and doc said the they implant sometimes later than "regular" pregnancies, so can measure off.
If you can do an u/s and keep monitoring b/work, that might show a progressing pregnancy...although w/ all the information that we know...i am about ready to stop getting more! it is making me crazy!
Good luck!

I had a miscarriage 4 years ago and never got pregnant since.  This year I have 2 frozen embryos transferred on 11/19/07.  Beta-HCG on 11/27 and it was very low < 5 then another Beta-HCG on 11/29 it went up to 8 then another Beta-HCG on 12/4 it was 82 but I started bleeding on 12/9 and my dr. ordered another blood test on 12/10 and HCG was 237 then another blood test on 12/12 HCG was 448 but I still spotting up to today 12/17.  Is this a sign of miscarriage ?  Is there anyone can help ?

Your HCG would go down right away from my own experience.  Go get an ultrasound done, hopefully that will put your mind at ease.  God Bless and keep us posted!

I had at least three episodes of quite heavy bleeding in the first trimester while I was pregnant with my daughter.  I was sure I lost her but it all turned out fine, she's a very healthy, active 2 year old.  You very well may still be pg. Definately ask if you can get that ultrasound.

Hi Manzana:
if HCG was 149 on 11/30 and 550 on 12/3 it is more than doubled! I read on several sites that it should double every 2-3 days so this seems to be normal.
About the bleeding I can only advice you to see your gyn. You already had a positive test on 11/26 so you are about 5 weeks pregnant now, Why don't you ask your doctor for an early ultra sound? I had mine when I was 6 weeks and there was something visible.
Take care!
