Amnio Results

The nurse called me today at 430pm - it was torture all day.  Fish test came back negative for trisomy 13, 21, 18 and the x & y chromosomes were checked with no problems (not sure what their checking on the x & y chromosomes).  We're for sure having a boy!!

She said that she has never seen the actual amnio test come back differently than the Fish test.  It can happen, but she believes its rare.  Have you ladies heard anything on that one?

So happy with this news.  I can breathe and sleep a little better tonight!!

I had FISH, and they told me the same thing. When I got my final results a few weeks later, they were exactly the same as FISH.  If I remember correctly, they told me that FISH was 93% accurate and after the whole process it was 99% accurate.  I would say your in excellent shape!  And yet another boy.....congratulations!!!!!!!
