An Update on lil Mr. Brayden..

We had a well baby check up yesterday and my little guy isn't so little anymore. He weighs 16 lbs 12 oz and is 28 inches long! I think he is going to be a tall one.. hehe He is teething now so he isn't the happiest camper in the world but is actually taking it better then I expected! He has been sleeping A LOT, which could be from the pain wearing him out or just a growing milestone. He says mommom and da all the time. He is the light of my eyes! He goes back in Dec 1 for another visit, can't wait to see how much more he has grown!!

I uploaded some new pics if ya wanna check them out!

Thanks!
Patty

WOW, I'm jealous!!! I bit the bullet and put Blake to bed in a swaddle, 5 seconds later he broke out and I left him :( Boy he screamed a good few minutes, soothed him by placing him on his side and patting his back. STILL OUT!! He woke up once and I did the same thing. IT's 10:45, I'm going to go to bed and he'll be up any minute, right?? I didn't pump so I'm planning on feeding him 1 more time when he wakes up BUT THAT's IT!! No more soothing with the boob!! ha ha, I say that now :)  We'll see.........oh, and I think it was about 7 when I put him to bed....

Thanks Ladies! He is getting so big! It's funny because DH and I guess how much he weighs before his appointments and this time I was way off. I guessed 15.2.. Scott guessed 16.13 so he was the closest by far! I think he weighed him on our scales here..lol Sandi- when he was born he weighed 7lbs 9.3oz and was 18 3/4 inches long. Well actually on his record it has that he was 21 inches but they can't measure **** correctly at the hospital. They just laid him down on paper and marked two line at each end and measured that. They didn't actually stretch him the way they should have. Then when I took him to his first check up they only got 18 3/4 inches.. I was freaking out because he was so much shorter..lol Then they told me how the hospital does it and then hoe they are supposed to do it...lol So, yeah he grew a ton in length!
Kellie- Brayden has his moments sleeping.. most night he does sleep through the night. For a while he wasn't doing so well and I had to pay close attention to what I was feeding him and when. I was giving him fruit too late I think and then he was restless at night so I stopped that. So now he gets some cereal early in the morning and fruit in the afternoon. I never give him fruit after 3. I have paid close attention and when I give it to him later then that he doesn't like to sleep! We have a ritual every night. Play peek a boo.. read him a story (right now it's = The legend of Spookley, the square pumpkin.... hehe) let him play on the bed or floor for a while,  Bath at 7 or 8 even if it just to let him play in the warm water for a whole and let his bones soak up the warmth. Then when he gets out I give him a Massage really good and then feed him a 6 oz bottle,  let him jump in his Jumperoo for a little bit to let his milk settle and then about a half hour later I give him his binky (or not) and rock him to sleep. He goes to bed at 9-- (9:30 at the absolute latest) and sleeps until 8 am. I always wake him up! Sometimes he will stir at around 4 so I will give him about 3 oz and he goes back to sleep.  This works absolutely wonderful during the week but when DH comes home he tries to mess up my routine..lol He is just like a new father every single weekend... "give him to me, we need to play" "he isn't ready for bed..." blah blah blah...lol

sorry it was so long..lol

Good Luck getting him to sleep!

Patty,
How is Brayden sleeping at night? Blake is really putting unwanted wrinkles and bags under my eyes, hee, hee... I'm still nursing and he is getting up a ton at night. He goes to bed for a few hours and then busts out of his swaddle. I know he's old to be swaddled but that's how he likes to sleep. After he busts out, I nurse him to get him back to sleep and of course to get him quiet before he wakes up the whole house. (okay, and so I can go back to sleep quick too) I lay him on his side, leaving arms out and he's up an hour 1/2 later. on and on and on...until that darn sun pops up! My sister says to let him cry and stop nursing him, but I swear it's hard when this starts at 1:00am! At 18lbs and 5 1/2 months he should be sleeping through the night right? He is just so used to snuggling up with his light crochet blanket that I'm scared left unswaddled with it he'll suffocate,...sorry that was long winded venting session :( How is Brayden sleeping?

Sounds like he's a healthy little guy, I'm going to check him out! I got on the scale w/Blake, whom is 5 1/2 months now and he's just about 18lbs! Challenging to nurse, ha ha. I went to Carters the other day and had to buy him 9 month clothes. I feel like he was never a little baby, ha ha...

So glad to hear your little guy is growing big and strong!  And also glad to hear that teething isn't being too hard on him (or mom)!  He's such a beautiful little boy!
