Anxious!

Well, I'm 45 and delivered a baby boy in April so 39's a baby!  Seriously, I had babies back in the '80's and this pregnancy was easier than the others.  Now the post-partum period has been a little different but that's another story.  Anyway, I'll wish you a BFP in the near, near future!

Like everyone is saying you are NOT too old... I hope not, because I am 38 (turn 39 in October) and trying for our first... My brother was 42 when his first children (twins) were born. So it is only a number - enjoy your pregnancy & hopefully more to come if you want. Best wishes to you !

Well, I am 38 and will be 39 two months after my second son is born in Oct. I really have high hopes of having one more after that! So I say no, we are not too old. I would love to try for a girl again but I think 3 sons would be wonderful to! Sometimes I think it would have been easier to have them younger but then I would not have been with the wonderful husband that I have now. I am so much more stable, emotionally and financially than before. I think we have more patience and wisdom truly does come with age. I am not saying that you young mothers can't do a good job as well! My mother was only 16 when she had me (back in her love child days) and I think she did a great job, we are closer than ever now. Congratulations and best of luck to you!!!

I am 40 and pregnant with twins, I had my first at 30 and I feel older and more worn out with this pregnancy, but it could be that I have 12 pounds of little girls in me and am more then ready for this pregnancy to be over,, enjoy your self and good luck..

No, it's not too old.  I think it's actually a special blessing to be older and feel more confident about everything.  I'm 43 and pregnant with my third.  My other two are 21 and 16.  It's a different time, but different in a great way.  Relax.  You'll be just fine.

I had my 1st at 38...We waited on purpose and planned! I have 4 friends all who had their babies (first or otherwise) in their late 30's and one at 44. It's very common where we live, come to think of it, I don't know ANY mom's in their 20's!!!

Hi, I'll be 38 with my first baby.  That will make me 40 when I have my second (I hope).
You are not old at all.  Don't you know 40 is the new 30. :)

Take care and enjoy being pregnant and a mum.

O.K. some of us are really old! I'm 46 pregnant with my 3rd baby (3 weeks to go). I had my first at 37, 2nd at 41. My children are all healthy and happy. You sound like the perfect age to start a family to me! Enjoy your miracle.

I'll be 40 next month and pregnant for the first time and I feel really old, too!  We're going to be moving, and the main thing I'm focused on is trying to find a neighborhood with other old parents!  But....my friends (and fiance) think I'm crazy.  There are tons of people (especially in LA & SF where we live) my age and older with first babies and/or still trying to get pregnant - and I know a bunch of them!  So we just need to relax and FEEL YOUNG!  Age is just a number and it's all about how young we feel.  So I'm trying to tell myself:)

Oh my gosh, I sure hope thats not to old.  I am 39 and trying for our first.  Even if I get pregnant in August, I will be 40 before the birth.  Its so common now to have children in our late 30's and 40's.  I don't feel to old at all, and DH and I actually made the decision to wait until our late 30's.  As Sandi said, age is just a number, and I am sure all will be well.  Congrats on your pregnancy, I wish you a happy, healthy remaining 34 weeks.
