Need your prayers and baby dust. Got a BFP on Wed after trying for the past 19 months. Had pretty much decided it just wasn't going to happen, but gave it another shot and went for a Xmas miracle. Still can't believe it; I check for bleeding every time I hit the bathroom. Just so scared its going to go away. Had my second beta today and will get the results for both tomorrow. One extra little pink line made me so happy; and two little numbers could take it all away. Please wish me luck!
I was a nervous wreck the entire first 12 weeks bc I have had 3 previous early miscarriages and my doctor only gave me a 50% chance of carrying this one to 12 weeks. Then again at 13 weeks when i had to have the genetic testing for chromosome problems. And now again bc my 20 week anatomy scan is coming up. LOL....It's been one long nerve wrecking experience!! But I wouldn't trade if for the world.
Not sure about the cold sweats...could be all the nerves and excitement all mixed up together. I know that happens to me.
Got the results back from the Maternit21 test I took. Dr's office said it would take 2 wks but got them back in 8 days. Very happy to say that the results were negative for any problems w/ the tri's. They also have the sex of the baby; told them I will let them know if I decide to find it out. So far, I've made it to 12 wks and am hoping everything is ok.
Wow that's awesome that you were able to achieve pregnancy at 45! What did you do differently to get pregnant this time around? I am almost 42 and my hubby and I were married 10 months ago so we have been trying for nearly that long. I stated acupuncture and am on some good vitamins and supplements. Trying to eat well and do hot yoga, good sleep. Just curious as to what your routine has been. You give me great hope!
cutter1974: Thanks! I feel ok; nauseous quite a bit, but fortunately doesn't get to the throwing up stage. Starvation is my main thing; I eat and I'm hungry again an 1 1/2 to 2 hours later. It's a wonder I'm not round by now.:) How are doing? You're getting pretty close now, aren't you? How much longer do you have left?
kmgdjs: Its sounds like you're doing a good job getting healthy and ready for pregnancy. Way better than me. There is surely hope for you if I can do it. What I did; I temped, took baby aspirin and prenatal vitamins. I bd'd the day before I o'd and every other day before that the wk leading up to it. I didn't cut back on caffeine and I still drank when I felt like it (figured I'd have a long enough nine months to get through if it worked). I did have a mom who had me at 43 by accident and didn't go into menopause until she was 56. Do you know when your mom did this? Also, have you been pg before or is your 1st attempt? Best of luck!
So glad to hear you are doing well! That is wonderful. If you find morning sickness is really bothering you, you can always take morning sickness pill. They work great and are safe.
I am getting very close, just 3 more days until my csection and I will finally get to hold my son. We are very excited! This will be our first and only child.
By the way, all the late babies I mentioned were born vaginally and were healthy in every respect. You may be worrying about the statistics concerning late motherhood. You are not a statistic. You are a person. Enjoy what the future will bring.
Thanks! Sorry took so long; just got my computer working again, thank goodness. We are doing great. 24 wks now and feeling pretty good except for alot of heartburn and what seems to be almost constant peeing. Sending baby dust to all!
Had my baby boy Sept 7th. Made it through the pregnancy and birth w/out any major complications or problems. Baby and I are happy and healthy. Don't give up girls; its certainly possible to have a good pregnancy even at an "advanced age.":)
