Baby is Still Going Strong - gaining hope

I am 6 weeks post IUI today.

Had u/s and there is a 1.8 cm baby (8 weeks and 2 days), with 161 heartbeat.  Small yolk sack of 0.5 cm.  Dr said everything looks as it should.

After at least 3 recent losses (all 6 - 7 weeks or earlier), 6 IUI attempts, and 18 months of trying, I am now beginning to be hopeful that this one may make it.

I am having severe and increasing nausea, which I hate, but also welcome as a good sign that the hormones are strong!

Thank you! thank you! everyone.

They were cooking popcorn in my office.  Just felt like throwing up.

So NICE to be having all these strong pregnancy symptoms.

Fingers and toes crossed and praying hard for this little one.  Next ultrasound is in 4 weeks!

Great news, it is hard not to be nervous but it all sounds very positive.

As for the sickness;
I find if I eat a small piece of cheese or a boiled egg with a plain cracker right before bed I don't feel quite so sick in the morning. I also nibble almonds through the day, seems to keep the edge off that sick feeling to have a little protein inside of me.

HOORAY!  This is fantastic news.  Sounds like the baby is right where he ought to be, for this stage of pregnancy.  He is growing exactly as is expected.  This is wonderful news, Sally.

I am very sorry that you are going through the nausea (I totally understand being a mother myself) but nausea is one of the strongest signs that everything is going well.  The nausea should subside around the third, maybe as late as the fourth month, in some women.  My son was 5 months with vomiting.  My daughter was in the 9th month - vomiting.  Imagine that...

Being the forever "Mothering type," may I suggest that you eat a few crackers in the morning and sip maybe some tea.  Try to stay hydrated.  That's really important, as you know.

I am so happy for you, I could just leap with joy.  IF this old body of 57 would even do it anymore.

Sending tons of hugs,
Heather
