Hello! I'm 6 weeks 3 days pregnant. I had my first ultrasound yesterday and saw a strong heartbeat and embryo measuring right on schedule. Then my doctor called me later and said the tech told her she saw either a small fibroid or that I may have a bicornuate uterus. She said they couldn't be sure what was going on or what the diagnosis was until I was at least 12 weeks along, if the pregnancy continues that long. I asked where the baby was implanted, as I understand that makes a huge difference in some of these cases, but she said she hadn't seen the report yet. I don't understand any of this. Why can't it be diagnosed sooner? And why can't they tell the difference between the two conditions? Shouldn't I be sent to a specialist in this case? I'm really concerned, especially as she seems to have no answers for me.
