Bleeding at 6 weeks

I have been spotting mostly brown for a week now.  Today my spotting turned heavy red all of a sudden.  I went to the bathroom and filled the toilet with red blood.  It was just poring out of me.  I went to RE prepared for the worst but received no definite answer.  The good news is that we saw the heartbeat so the baby definitely developed since Friday's u/s.  On Friday I was 5w 4d and we only saw a gestational sack.  Today I am 6w 1d.  On the other hand, he acknowledged lots of bleeding and said that can be a beginning of a m/c.  He said that if something is wrong my body will m/c and there is nothing I can do about that.  So, more anxiety and waiting.  I am still spotting red but at least the heavy flow stopped.
Does anyone here have a happy end after a heavy bleeding?  Just looking for some little hope here.
Thank you all for your notes and messages of support today.  It helped me stay sane.

My story is a little different, but with a happy ending!  I was pregnant with twins (IVF) and started bleeding, about the same timeframe you did... Lost one embryo - the other had a heartbeat that was just a pumpin'.  DD is now 22 months old... I will pray for you!

you know that w/ my ds i had bleeding and i didn't even go to the er.  my dr said that it was up to me and that i would m/c.  i spent a week on my couch just waiting for the worst.  Bodhi is almost 2 now!!!!  Everytime I look at him I could cry to think what a miracle it is that I had him.  Keep the faith and relax.  :)  It is a great sign that you saw a hb.

I had bright red bleeding at 9wks.  It was only one time and then stopped, but it freaked me out.  They saw the heartbeat and told me the same things they told you about miscarriage.  Everything turned out fine.  They said it was probably just burrowing in. I'm almost 20 wks now. I know it's hard to wait it out.  I bet everything will be fine for you.  Take it easy.  Don't lift anything.  Good luck to you.

I am so happy you heard the heartbeat!  That is such a great sign.  All I can tell you is that when i was bleeding heavily, we did not get a heartbeat at all, and I was told that was the concern, not so much the bleeding.  Hang in there and try to stay positive.  We are all rooting for you!!
