Brain bleed and labour

I'm 41 weeks 1 day and went to hospital for a post date check. When going through my medical history the docs saw I had a sub arachnoid heamorage (brain bleed)11 years ago. Now they're advising me to have a c section because all the pushing in labour could cause a brain bleed. I don't know what to do.

I would do a c section without a doubt. If my Dr suggests it then I would go with what he says. He has been medically trained to understand the risks of certain situations. And honestly people on here do not have that kind of training (for the most part) I would rather have a c section with no risks or worries than to try it natural and have the thought in the back of your mind that you could be pushing to hard or whatever. There is so much going on in labor you don't want to add something else to stress about.

Wow,  your lucky doctor found it in your medical history! Id go for c-section.  Get a second opinion if it'll make u feel more comfortable.

Honestly with that id go with my doctors advice.. I do haveto say though  a good friend whos been sooo lucky to survive 3 aneurysms in her brain and her dr let her deliver naturally and she was ok. But I think id be to worried to. That's got to be a decision of you your husband and Doctors. Best of luck :)

Wow, how scary.  I would be hesitant to go against the Dr. at all except that you don't necessarily need to push all that hard to deliver a baby.   In fact you're more likely to tear and cause other damage the harder you push.  Many Dr.s like to tell you to hold your breath and push as hard as you can to "speed things up" but its not necssary and often actually slows things down by causing swelling. I've never done the blue-in-the-face pushing. Maybe get some other opinions from midwives or doctors.
