Cervical mucus question

Hi,  I have two questions.  I am on CD 11 of Clomid.  I took 100mg on cd 5-9.  I am noticing a lot of stretchy (2``), thick, snotty like cervical mucus.  Also, my panties are full of white creamy mucus.  It is definitively wet down there!  What is that snotty discharge?  Does the snotty cm show up before the EWCM?  My cycle are about 60 days.  I do not have PCOS or other hormonal imbalance.  I did OPK yesterday & today, both were negative. I drink a tons of water and take mucinex, fish oil & EPO to thin the mucus.

My other question is regarding clomid.  It has been very easy on me.  I just feel very emotional.  I have small cramps or twinges, in my ovaries, from time to time, but that is pretty much it.  Do you think it is working?  I am not being monitored.  My insurance do not cover infertility.

Thank's in advance for your help.

Hi ! I just started my prescribed clomid therapy at 100 mg and so far so good no major side effects just CM is thicker, stringy and more prevalent also the occasional hot flash. This is different because I am always cold. I am very excited about this trial though and have learned so much from ppl's post and experiences. So thanks for sharing and lots of baby dust to y'all TTC.
And yes I am learning the lingo and abbreviations too lol
Good Luck!

I have always had it, but it was particularly heavy while on clomid.  Much more noticeable.  It was clear, super stretchy and tonnes of it! Much more then normal.

Glad I didn't insult you!  And by the way, welcome to our community!!

Adgal, please no worries, I was not insulted at all.  These were good questions.

Now, did you get the thick, snotty mucus before using Clomid?  Or it just started to happen on Clomid?

My apologies if my comments were insulted.  I have been on here so long now, and you would be amazed at how many women our age just don't know how this whole process works.  It's also very alarming as to how many women are buying clomid over the internet which is so dangerous.  So when I hear 100mg, no monitoring it sends up a bit of a red flag for me.

That being said, I still think you are about to ovulate based on your mucus.  I can tell you that for me, when I was on clomid I did not find OPK's to be overly reliable and tended to go with my bodies signs.  I just want to make sure I am understanding correctly...you had no period inbetween right?  So in my mind that makes you CD 43 and being close to ovulation would make sense?  I would BD for sure.  How confusing this must be.

As for the clomid, I still wouldn't worry about the lack of symptoms.  Perhaps your just one of the lucky ones!  I had an awful time with it.  My husband used to say to me...."so this is a clomid moment, right?" lol.  I was not a pleasant human being.

Last comment I will make is that the use of clomid in our late 30's and early 40's is a bit controversial.  Some Dr.'s feel it's not a good bet for us.  For me, I was one of those 20% who could not conceive on it.  It made my fertile mucus "inhospitable".  As soon as I went off it, I conceived naturally...go figure.  Good luck!  I hope we are reading soon about your pregnancy!

Hi Adgal,
Thank you for responding.  Yes, my Clomid was prescribed by my OB.  I did start with 50 mg and no ovulation.  Next cycle, I went med free.  As per CD 31, still no ovulation (progesterone test 0.5).  Same day, I had an u/s to make sure all was fine, lining was 6mm, great uterus and plenty of small follies on both ovaries.  So because I did not ovulate (as per my follies & BBT) & not pregnant, she started me on Clomid 100mg right away.  Now I am on CD 11 and I have no idea where I should be at this point.  So total, I am on CD 43...
PS:  I have 2 daugthers already so I know my body works!!!  :)  I had them no meds and no problem.  I am 38 years old.

Stretchy, thick, snotty like cervical mucus sounds like your fertile mucus to me.  Ovulation is coming!  Get busy girl..lol.  When I was on clomid I found I had a lot more of it as well.  Clomid also changed my cycles, so you may be ovulating earlier then normal as if your cycles are typically 60 days, you really shouldn't ovulate until day 46.  Wow, long cycles.  I would BD just to be certain though.

I am sure the clomid is working just fine.  I am a bit surprised your Dr. agreed to put you on 100mg without monitoring.  I am assuming you did the 50mg first?  It's just that overstimulation of the ovaries is a bit of a concern with higher doses.  As for the lack of symptoms, don't worry about that, everyone reacts differently.

I have to ask, given some of the questions you asked....was the clomid prescribed, or did you buy it over the internet?  I am not trying to give you a hard time, it's just that self prescribing and taking clomid without medical advice/monitoring can cause problems.  Just curious.
