Clomid/Timing

Hi -
I went to my RE today - cycle day 2. He instructed me to start Clomid on Sunday, which would be cycle day 5.  My questions are:

1.Doesit matter when you start taking it?  I feel like I read somewhere that you're likely to develop more eggs if you start earlier?

2. Does when you start clomid have any effect on when you ovulate?  If i take it earlier will i ovulate earlier?

3.  The plan is to do an IUI, but I'm out of town from cycle day 7-14.  I'm going back to my RE first thing when in get back - cycle day 15.  What are the chances i'll miss my window?

Thanks!

Well, due to the blizzard in the NE, my flight was cancelled and i won't make it home for my RE IUI appointment!  There goes another month.  I did take the cycle of clomid and i've been using preseed per the reccos of some on this site!  my OPK showed a positive this AM, so fingers crossed maybe we'll be lucky without the IUI,  Anyone else get positive results with clomid and preseed?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I won't be monitored from days 7-14 because i'll be out of town.  I'll go in for an ultrasound first thin on day 15.  I guess i'm just worried that I might ovulate naturally before then....

I guess i'll just take the clomid days 5-9 then see my doctor as soon as I get back and hope for the best!

Good luck to you!

Well I have taken Clomid 3 times now, the 1st time days 5-9 and I produced 2 good size follicles and a small one but I was not readyfor Ovidrel Injection (to ovulate) until about day 17-18, also follicles were around 18-20 mm.  Slow egg grower?  Then the next 2 months took Cd 3-7 and 2 eggs each time again, but ready to ovulate around cd 15 last month and this month cd17, but my follicles are bigger 21-24mm each.  Unsure if that makes a difference.   Just took Ovidrel last night and should O tomorrow am.

I think everyone is different on their ovulation cycle, but if you are back around cd 15 you should be good, I think most ovulate around cd14-15.  If you are being monitored with u/s and taking ovidrel they will tell you when to get IUI.  Likely 24-36 hrs after ovidrel injection.

Good Luck!!
