Confused....BFN

Well, I poas this morning (3am) and it was a BFN.  How is that possible?  I'm 4 days late with AF and 15 dpo.  I don't have any symptoms one way or the other (AF symptoms or pg symptoms).  Is it possible that after my m/c last month and detecting ovulation after m/c that my AF is still delayed or possibly not going to happen for weeks?  I am typically like clockworks with AF (every 25 days) but this is my first m/c and I guess it has messed up my clock.  Has this happened to anyone else after a m/c where you detected o, but didn't get your AF?  Kinda blue on a rainy Saturday....:(

After every miscarriage I have had, AF came about 5 weeks later.  I am also like clockwork, usually 28 days. Recently my AF started to change, coming at 25 days.  My OB says it may be due to having had several m/c in a short period of time.  It can definately take your body time to get back to normal.

As for the obsessing, same here.  I think its normal after a loss.  Thats one of the wonderful things about this site...its a place you can come and obsess and vent, and everyone understands!!

I hope its a BFP for you!!

Hi Miranda,  no worries about sharing your story/experience...that's what we are all here for.  I think you are right, everyone is different and I guess I/we will just have to wait until AF shows and start counting from there, again.

Don't beat yourself up about mixing drinking and bd'ing....I certainly don't make a practice of it, but if I take an advil or have cocktail (knowing I probably shouldn't), I think about my parents and even friends who did all the crazy things they did when they didn't even know they were pregnant and everything turned out just fine.

Sorry to hear you turned up with a bfn too...we both have a BFP in our future!!!!  Stay positive and I wish you all the best too!

I'm sorry, Betsta, this is your posting and I've hijacked with my obsessive rambling.  It's miserable, cold and raining outside and I'm thinking far too much about things.  I've also just poas and I'm bfn.

I've also just spent these last few minutes googling about ovulating after m/c and the only conclusion that I've come up with is that every woman is different and it can take awhile for your body to get back to normal.

You are the same age as I am so guess I am feeling a kindred connection.  I want both of us to be successful.  Only while you've been TTC this month, I haven't been trying, and had a sudden fear because I drank wine.  I'm sorry again for hijacking.  I wish you all the best.  Miranda.

Betsta,
I just got back online to post....

I can tell you after my blighted ovum last November, for a couple of months my periods were off: I'd get it on Day 24 and bleed for 10 days straight.  Then they straightened out just as quickly and I was back on 27-28 days. I've been tracking since I was 20.  In my 20s I'd get my AF every 28-30 days and now I'm 27-28 days.

Now I'm starting to obsess:(  I'm obsessing because when I TTC, I don't want to take any risks.  No Starbx, no alcohol, no pain medication...

I had a m/c right at 5 weeks (Oct 21/22) and am hoping to get my AF this Nov 17/18.  I don't track my ovulation and we will TTC after my AF comes.

BUT.  I'm looking at my calendar and I did the BD (strange acronyms, these) on Day 14 after my miscarriage.  I was on vacation that week, visiting a wine region:(

I'm going to go to the gym right now but I really want to poas.  I'm feeling a bit stressed right now:(

My levels were back to zero about 1.5 weeks after I m/c....so, when I ovulated, my levels were back to 0.  I was talking to a girlfriend and she said that her doctor told her that sometimes it can take up to being pg for 3-4 weeks before you can get a + when poas.  Not sure how true that is...but I am finding that anything is possible.  Maybe I will wait a few more days and poas again.  Otherwise...I'll just wait...and yes, it does stink! :)

unfortunately if you have a m/c your levels have to go to zero before your cycle starts.  I waited 11 weeks for my af after my 2nd m/c..  I am once again waiting..  and it stinks

I m/c at 5.5 weeks (on 10/17), which I also counted as AF (and was told to as well), detected ovulation 2 weeks later (on 10/31) and was expecting my AF this past Tuesday, but nothing.  DH and I did ttc during ovulation, so I was hoping for a BFP....which isn't happening, apparently.  I guess I thought if you ovulated, AF would follow, but maybe that isn't the case after a m/c.  I'm not really sure.  I had told my doctor that I detected o and he was happy to hear that I got right back on track, but I didn't think to ask him if AF would follow, I guess I just assumed it would.  I doubt that my levels are too low to be detected by poas...so something else must be going on with body due to the m/c.  Hopefully someone out there can shed some light on this or experienced a similar thing.  Thanks!

I've heard of the opposite: anovulatory bleeding, ie, you get your AF but you don't ovulate.

I'm in similar circumstances: clockwork type of gal who m/c last month at 5 weeks....I'm counting the m/c as if it was my last period so I'm hoping I'll get my AF early this coming week...but I'm not feeling any of my usual PMS symptoms. And for once I wish I was:(

Unfortunately your body does what it wants after a m/c.  it may take awhile to get back on track..  I'm still waiting for mine to try again.  baby dust to both of us..
