D&C or natural miscarriage?

Well its looking like a miscarriage is going to happen.  HGC was 522 on Tues and on THurs only went up to 575.  Had another set of tests run today but I am sure of what I will hear.  I need to decide on a D&C or let it happen naturally.  I fear being put under but I also fear just having a blood gushing incident.  Any ideas?

I just want to say, that I hope you reconsider about trying again as well.  I had 4 miscarriages and an ectopic and I just knew that one day this would happened for me, because I believed.  I now have a beautiful 4 month old son and I was 41 at delivery.  You're just experiencing bad luck, your just not getting a mature egg and it will happened for you.

Good luck to you and I hope you keep trying.

I thought about waiting it out but I have had hemorrhaging with my last 2 miscarriages and don't want to experience that again.  I am a preschool teacher and that would be very frightening to the kids if that happened in the classroom.  I don't really want a d & c but I also don't want a blood gushing surprise.

You doctor is probably right..your hcg isn't doubling properly and it's probably a miscarriage, however you hcg is so low I don't think that the D&C is necessary.    I'd wait it out a couple of weeks to see if your body takes care of it on your own.   And in stead of D&C I'd consider the shot of methotrexate.  At least you won't have to go under for that.   Good luck.  I'm sorry about your miscarriage.

Also some posters are telling you to wait things out, but quite honestly slow rising hcg levels indicate a failing pregnancy..don't get your hopes up too high.   Honestly your hcg is rising too slow.

I agree with Lisa...I have heard too many times of drs diagnosing early miscarriages, only to find out a week or two later everything changes.  I would hold off on the D&C until you have a vaginal u/s.  If you are very early 4-5 weeks, don't put much stock in high HCG#s yet...I would wait.  Also, from your last post you stated that you are done...I hope you reconsider that as well.  Many women on this forum have had up to 5 miscarriages only to find out the next BFP was the prize!  Please don't lose hope yet!  : )  Please keep us posted, and best wishes to you!  Pam

I'm so sorry about this!  i've followed your story & I've been there a couple times myself.  I doubt at this stage where your hcg numbers are so slow that anything will be visible on u/s but as Lisa said, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to check things out?  Or did you already have one?

I am not an expert and I realize that in most cases it is not good news when HCG does not double, but your numbers are still going up.  Maybe its just slow?  Shouldnt you wait to have a D&C after a vaginal ultrasound confirms miscarriage or ectopic?
How far along are you and when will you have your u/s?

bad news again today.  My hcg only rose to 620.  2 days ago I was 575.  So I have a d&c scheduled for Tuesday.  After 3 miscarriages I am done.

I personally know how difficult the wait and see process is, I had to do it myself 4 weeks ago, but hang in there.  My heart goes out to you and I am praying that you get great news.
Keep us posted.
