Doctor

Is there suposed to be a heartbeat by the 7th week of pregnancy?  I am 7.5 weeks pregnant and I had an internal ultrasound done and was told I have a sac in me but no baby or heartbeat yet.  This is my  5th pregnancy.  My four previous ones were fine.  I'm a bit afraid why there is no baby and heartbeat yet???? I have another appointment in 2 weeks from now to check me again.  what could be?? Will a baby and heartbeat develop????

Dates can be off, and if you have a tilted uterus, it can definitely skew how things look and what can be seen clearly on the ultrasound.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Yes, there is usually a heartbeat at 7.5 weeks. However, I would wait and get another ultrasound in a week.  Sometimes dates can be off and that can explain a lot.  I know this is hard, I have also been there.  I hope all turns out well.  Take care.

I saw the doctor on my 7th week. The baby was already 7w3d old but no heartbeat. On my 8th week ultrasound they did not see any heartbeat and the baby measured less. Could this be another miscarriage?

That's a tough one. We saw my babies hb at 6 weeks and a fetal pole. Maybe you ovulated a week later than you thought that's why you don't see anything yet. That is also probably why the dr. wants to wait a couple more weeks. Did your dr. seem optomistic or worried? I wish you the best!
