Hey there!  I am glad this is here--
I am 37 and have been trying for 1.5 years.  I start Clomid this week....very hesitantly since I have regular cycles (31 days) and seem to ovulate (usually day 17).  My prog. is 11.6--Both my Gyn. and RE suggested I begin the Clomid.  I have been through all of the regular tests....and all seem fine.
I go in a couple of weeks for a post op. visit from my Laproscopy....which showed nothing.
I think the forums are great...provide me with a lot of questions for my Dr. that I never thought to ask...EX:  using a small amount of lubrication (not spermicide) can cause harm to sperm.
I am getting overwhelmed with the information....

Hi all,  I am 38.  I have been ttc for 4 years.  I have had 2 m/c, I blighted ovum, 3 months of clomid, 3 months of follistim - last one with iui (June 22).  I am waiting for af right now.  So I feel for everyone...
Anyway keep you fingers crossed for me, yesterday was 14 dp iui.  I had 2 shots of hcg, I cannot really get an acurate reading on hpt...

Good Luck to Everyone

I, too, am glad for this forum and wish all of you the best. I am 36 and have a daughter almost 3. I am currently 19 wks pregnant and suffered a m/c in December '06. My daughter was conceived w/out sweat but my miscarriage took me 9 months of charting including temperature taking. Needless to say, I was devestated, as some of you can attest. I was 35 and afraid I wouldn't be able to have anymore (but of course, so very thankful for my wonderful daughter!) so I sought help from a specialist. I noticed in my previous charting I had a somewhat short luteal phase and thought an RE would help. After normal sperm tests and blood tests I took a round of clomephine and fortunately it helped. While going throught the clomy cycle I was moody and depressed and my husband and I agreed NO MORE CLOMEPHINE!!! Lo and behold, I was preg. 1st round. I have had a tremendous amt. of anxiety this pregnancy because of my fear of m/c. I can relate to those of you who suffered a m/c. It's heartbreaking and the feelings don't go away overnight.

Good luck to you girls! Don't lose hope!!!!

Hi - I'm Rebecka.  I'm 36, will be 37 in August.  My husband is 59.  We have been trying to conceive since we were married five years ago.  My first husband and I tried for many many years as well with no luck.  So, no children, just two parakeets - Harry and Hedwig - lol.  I had surgery in November to remove a tumor from my left ovary, a fibroid my uterus and a polyp from my cervix.  While there were in there, they found two additional polyps in my uterus that they removed as well.  We started working with a RE at the beginning of this year.  We've used Clomid and IUI.  We were able to FINALLY get pregnant in February 2007 and we made it through the first ultrasound at six weeks.  When we returned for the eight weeks us - the baby's heartbeat was gone.  I went through a D&E on April 17.  If our son had survived, he would have been born with Klinefelter's Syndrome, a chromosomal disorder caused by an extra chromosome.  We did our second IUI on June 7 and are pregnant again.  Our first us is scheduled for July 17, the second for July 31.  My hCG numbers doubled MUCH better then last time - but still really nervous about everything - including that second ultrasound.  I'm so glad we have this forum up and running - it's nice to meet all you ladies and to know that there are others out there going through similar struggles.  Good luck to all - and lots of baby dust!

Hi,
I don't have a long lengthy story.  My dh and I have been married almost 4 yrs, first marriage for both of us, no children.  I'm 36 and 8 wks pg with twins initially, but as of last wk, think that I'm losing one.  US showed very faint hb of one sac.  I have been so down, even though I only knew for a week that we were expecting twins, I was already prepping my mind of what to do.

We ttc on our own for 1.5yrs before going thru testing.  My dh has problem, and due to the problem, they gave us the best probability with IVF with ICSI and assisted hatching.   So we did IVF and it worked the first time much to our doc's surprise.  He even thought IVF might take at least 2 tries.

Good luck to everyone on a happy healthy pg and also good luck to those who are still ttc.....ssbd!!!  :)

Hi Kelly,

August sounds like a good month!!! I'm 45 as i said and husband is 40. I was married before and had a miscarriage, also had an ectopic pregnancy at 17 which resulted in the loss of my right tube. This is his first marriage. We've only been married 1yr.4mths. We pray for a blessing this time around. Let me know how things turn out for you. Good Luck to everyone:):)

My name is sonya, i'm 37 and live in UK. i have a 18 year old daughter Emma who is Turners syndrome Mosiac and 10 year old daughter Mollie.
I married a man 9 years my junior 3years ago and last year decided we wanted a baby of our own. Within weeks i was pregnant!!! LMP 29th Dec 06
On 6th March 07 i had scan that showed the baby had died around 6 weeks. I went through a D&C the next day.
Since then i have had a abnormal smear and colposcopy, Results showed abnormality in the cervix cells. I have to have a Loop 27th july and have to wait 6 months after this to have another smear, if this is clear i can try to concieve again. It seems a lifetime away and thats only if it's normal.
I feel like i'm running out of time!!!

Thankyou so much for this new forum!!
I'll be here alot!

Hi,

I'm 36 years and 31 weeks pregnant with our first child, which was conceived through IUI (2nd round).  We tried IVF last summer and got pregnant but miscarried around 9 weeks.  I'm so thankful that the IUI worked out b/c IVF was so much to process/handle both physically and emotionally that I'm not sure I could've gone back for round two in January like we'd planned (when insurance calendar year turned over).

So far things are going okay...getting into my last two months and am both nervous and excited.  Birthing classes are tomorrow (hopefully my husband will survive) and shower next weekend.  We have done NOTHING yet to the room so will have to get kicked into high gear after the shower.

Good luck to all!

Hi!  I'm 35 going on 36...  have twin girls (spontaneous) that are two and are about to start trying again for #3.  We had two miscarriages in the last year in Dec. 06 and late April 07.  The 2nd one was soooo much harder.  Going next week for a hysterosonogram to make sure uterus looks ok.  Also had some bloodwork and pathology done after last m/c and everything was normal.  Dr. thinks m/c's were just bad luck...  Expect we'll start TTC again in the next month or two for a summer 08 baby.  No reason for the wait other than timing and needing a little time to heal emotionally after last m/c.  Good news is that we seem to get preggo easily but haven't been able to make it stick since our girls were born.  If we have another m/c then we'll be visiting the RE.   Good luck to everyone and am so glad to see this new board.

I am 37y and 11w2d preggers with my first baby.  I had two previous m/c and have pcos.  This was my first assisted cycle with femara/letrozole and it worked!  We have been trying for 1.5-2years.  I am so excited about this one I could burst!!  Had 6 & 8 week u/s and everything looked great.  Strong 150 HB.  12w first OB appt will be on 7/13.  My due date is 1/24/08 and I will be 38y by then!  I plan to TTC again when the baby is around 6 months old (don't want my eggs to get too old before we have our 2nd!).  Now I am just trying to figure out the details and what to do (or not do) about daycare, working opposite shifts with my hubby, part-time or full-time, etc.  My advice to anyone over 35 and TTC for more than 6 months is to go to a reproductive endocrinologist.  They really know their stuff and cover all the bases!!!  Good luck to everyone!!!

wow finally found you all!!  i knew i couldnt be the only one, hehe.  i am 37 going on 38 and have a 10mth old and a 17yr old.  I have had one m/c prior to my son who is now 10mths.  I am praying I never have to go through that ever ever ever again.  Nor anyone for that matter.  We are trying for another baby now.  I am sitting here totally bummed b/c I think I missed this month's window.  I posted my stats so everyone can respond to what day I might have o'ed.  I should be BBTing but have not felt like doing that yet.  I have the great stretchy CM yesterday and today at days 18 and 19 and we havent BD'ed since day 17.  my husband is working night shift and hates when he has to BD on demand.  Even if I try to nice it up first.....he knows that I have a mission.  Meh, he is being a bit of a jerk about it right now....but understandable.  After trying to get pregnant with my son.....we were exhausted and ready to give up.  I really feel like I should run home and jump on him while he is sleeping but I can't leave work.  Boohoo...so anyway, if anyone gets a chance to read my post maybe you can tell if there was a day that might seem like i o'ed.  Thanks.  ps.......great meeting you all and i look forward to reading everyones posts.
